Bryan Danielson Says Mercedes Mone Is Better Now Than Ultimo Dragon Was In 1996

Bryan Danielson gave high praise to Mercedes Mone on the AEW All Out pre-show, calling her better right now than Ultimo Dragon was in 1996. Danielson was on the pre-show event for Sunday’s PPV and responded to RJ City, who questioned whether Mone was more focused on her many title wins than she was about retaining the TBS Championship.

Danielson replied to that (per Fightful), “So you’re saying, in comparison, Mercedes is not as good as Ultimo Dragon was in 1996? I actually think in comparison to the wrestling landscape. Mercedes Mone in 2025 is better than Ultimate Dragon in 1996.”

Ultimo Dragon famously held 10 titles at the same time in 1996. Mone, who was victorious over Riho At All Out to retain her title, currently has nine concurrent titles.

Danielson also tried to fistbump City on the pre-show, calling it “fisting,” to which City declined:
