Cody Rhodes On Whether Erling Haaland, Tom Holland, Travis Kelce And Jason Momoa Could Join WWE

Cody Rhodes has shared his thoughts on which celebrities and athletes could make the jump to WWE, offering his take on Erling Haaland, Tom Holland, Travis Kelce and Jason Momoa during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Rhodes stopped by the show while promoting his role as Guile in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. During the interview, host Jimmy Fallon showed him pictures and asked which stars he could picture stepping into a WWE ring. They started with Manchester City and Norwegian soccer star Erling Haaland:

“(Erling Haaland) A supreme athlete, and with the hair, we could do a cousin thing, cause in wrestling, we’re all, we’re related, so he could be my ‘cuz’,’” said Rhodes.

When Tom Holland’s name came up, Rhodes had a very different answer. Rather than imagining the Spider-Man actor in WWE, Cody said he’d rather keep him out of the ring.

“That one, I’d say, let’s steer clear. This is why. He’s making all the movies that we enjoy. And my children like his movies, as well, so I don’t, I wouldn’t want, we can’t hurt Tom (Holland). He’s a treasure.”

Rhodes was much more open to the idea of Travis Kelce joining WWE. Kelce already has a connection to the company through his brother, Jason, who appeared at WrestleMania 40.

“Oh. I mean, but he’s already plugged in naturally. Not only that, because his brother. So they’d have to do a tag team. The Kelce Brothers, I mean, premium athletes. So you don’t have to worry, tag team action.”

Speaking about Jason Momoa, Rhodes said the actor already has the “energy” of a professional wrestler similar to wrestling legends like Bruiser Brody and Andre the Giant:

“Oh, yeah, also in Street Fighter. I feel, I kind of think he’s already a wrestler. Yeah, he’s got a real Bruiser Brody, Andre the Giant, just go town to town, have the match, cerveza after. The energy, Jason’s already a wrestler.”

At SummerSlam, Rhodes is scheduled to challenge CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship in Minneapolis after Punk captured the championship from Sami Zayn on RAW.
