Cook’s WWE Raw Review 10.5.26

Then. Now. Forever. Together!

We’re in Bossier City! We look back at Saturday’s Money in the Bank PLE in New Orleans. LA Knight lost to Roman Reigns. Tiffany Stratton avoided death and won the women’s briefcase. Oba Femi defeated Bronson Reed even after a Tsunami. Liv Morgan screwed Stephanie Vaquer out of the Women’s World Championship. Penta won the men’s briefcase and Je’Von Evans drove an ambulance before crashing through its roof.

Joe Tessitore & Corey Graves are our hosts tonight, and they note several wrestlers won’t be available tonight after MITB. The Usos & Solo Sikoa are WALKING! Liv Morgan & Judgement Day are WALKING! Chad Gable is WALKING! Rey Fenix is WALKING! Oba Femi is WALKING!

The ageless Lilian Garcia introduces the new Mr. Money in the Bank, Penta! Penta walks out with his new Dinero en el Banco briefcase, quite bespoke according to Joe. Pyro shoots out of the briefcase! The fans say that Penta deserves it. Penta thanks everyone for their love. He thanks his opponents at Money in the Bank. For twenty years, he fought for every opportunity in his life. He earned everything, and at MITB he did it one more time. Penta speaks in Spanish, then says the briefcase means everything to him. Now he has the power in his hands. We don’t know when or where, but when Penta decides to cash in he’ll become World Champion.

Je’Von Evans staggers down to the ring wearing an arm sling. Penta holds the ropes open for him. The fans chant “Bouncy”. Je’Von says he’s a little banged up and shows off his rib tape. They tried to send him home, but no matter how much he hurts he isn’t going to miss an episode of Monday Night Raw. He wants to tell Penta something face to face. If there’s anyone that deserves that briefcase this year, it’s Penta. He’s proud of him, everyone’s proud of him. They hug…

But Bron Breakker enters the ring and spears Evans after Evans pushes Penta out of the way! Bron walks around ringside and backs up the ramp afterwards. Officials check on Evans as we go to commercial.

Rey Mysterio vs. Big Cass: Rey runs into a kneelift from Cass. Cass misses in the corner and Rey smacks him in the face before ducking out of the ring. Cass chases Rey around, Rey hides behind the steps, slides under the ring, goes on the apron and dives into Cass, ranaing him into the barricade. Rey ducks a boot in the ring, dropkicks Cass to the floor. Rey slides out of the ring and Cass sends him into the barricade. Cass military presses Rey into the ring. We go to commercial!

Rey fights out of a suplex attempt and kicks away at Cass. Cass responds with a clothesline that gets a two count. Rey sent into the corner, he drops to the canvas a couple of times when Cass tries to pull him up. Cass places him on the top turnbuckle and runs into Rey’s boots. Rey stands up and hits a seated senton. A running senton by Rey, but Cass answers with a boot. Rey fights out of a powerbomb, then Cass tumbles over the top rope. 619 to a standing Cass! Cass catches Rey on a dive, but ends up getting DDTed on the floor! Cass trips Rey, but Rey hits another 619! Rey tries another one and runs into a back elbow. Cass works Rey over in the corner and Jessicka Carr gives him the business, threatening to disqualify him. While Carr checks on Rey, Dragon Lee appears! He kicks Cass from the apron and Rey hits another 619! Victory roll ends it in favor of Mysterio!

Winner: Rey Mysterio (7:03 shown via pinfall)
Match Rating: **1/2
The crowd popped pretty big for Dragon Lee’s interference. Cass has been getting a lot of practice throwing small people around lately, but hasn’t been meeting too much success. Maybe he needs backup.

Rey & Lee celebrate in the entranceway while Cass is big mad.

Joe & Corey talk about the match later between the Bloodline & 946, and then we see a video recapping their recent issues. We see Solo rejoining his brothers last week, and Royce Keys telling us that no one’s safe. We also see them fighting at Money in the Bank.

946 asks if the Bloodline’s gonna shoot. Jaida Parker says nobody’s safe.

Adam Pearce tells Senior Official Chad Patten to keep order in the main event, get a pinfall or submission and get out of there.

Judgment Day is WALKING. We’ll hear from them next!

Liv Morgan’s song hits and the Judgment Day come down to the ring. Liv eventually talks and tells the fans they’re in the presence of the greatest Women’s World Champion of all time. After all the injustice done to her by Becky & Stephanie, the title is back where it belongs, in the Judgment Day. Now she can focus all her attention on becoming the two-time Crown Jewel winner.

This brings out Chelsea Green, the WWE Women’s Champion. The fans chant her first name. She didn’t come out to ruin Liv’s celebration, she wanted to stand toe to toe with the woman she’ll be facing at Crown Jewel. She respects Liv and is excited about the match, may the best woman win! Liv turns down the handshake, as those are for equals and they are not equal. Chelsea isn’t even a fighting or real champion, but she is looking at one. It’s hard for her to take Chelsea seriously, the only thing threatening about her was her friend Tiffany Stratton, and she’s hurt. She doesn’t have much to worry about from a placeholder champion. Chelsea has been underestimated her whole career, while Liv is having a party with her minions, she’ll be working day in and day out so Liv will look up at the lights at Crown Jewel. She’ll make Liv respect her. She calls her Dominik’s placeholder boyfriend. Roxanne Perez says that Chelsea can’t beat Liv, Raquel or her. Chelsea suggests they can find out tonight, and a referee enters the ring. Looks like we’re getting a match next!

Chelsea Green vs. Roxanne Perez (w/Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez): We join the match in progress, as Chelsea & Roxanne tie up outside and roll back into the ring. Shove by Chelsea, then an arm wringer. Roxanne reverses, Chelsea trips her up and hits a La Magistral for two. Chelsea with a headlock, then a takeover. Roxanne rolls her up, Chelsea maintains the headlock to her feet, off the ropes, a cartwheel and a slap by Perez. Green trips her up. Spins Perez around and slaps her! Knees to the back by Chelsea, then a cover gets two. Green misses in the corner, Perez with an uppercut, then she beats Chelsea down with right hands. Chelsea sends Roxanne head first into the turnbuckle, then goes up top. Missile dropkick by Chelsea! We go to commercial!

Chelsea blocks a leg sweep, then hits some Japanese arm drags. Jump up into a kick, then a Rough Ryder by Chelsea gets two. Chelsea runs up and gets rolled up by Roxanne for two. Roxanne tries a crossface but gets rolled up. This time Perez hits a facebuster and then a shining wizard gets two. Spin kick by Perez, Green goes for the Unprettier, some reversals lead to a German suplex by Chelsea. Liv tries to trip Chelsea, Chelsea pulls her hair and Perez attacks from behind. Perez misses a Perfect 10. Raquel with the distraction, but Roxanne is sent into her and Chelsea dives onto them on the floor. Liv runs up and is sent over the announce desk. Back in the ring, Perez takes advantage of a distracted Chelsea and hits Pop Rox for the three count!

Winner: Roxanne Perez (7:25 shown via pinfall)
Match Rating: **1/4
A bit slow in some spots, but a good win for Perez over the current WWE Women’s Champion. A lot of people thought Roxanne should have gotten the briefcase on Saturday to create some drama between her & Liv, but that doesn’t seem in the cards for now. Hopefully this is a sign of bigger things coming for her.

Liv talks some shit to Chelsea, and Chelsea slaps her! Roxanne & Raquel stomp her down and hold her for Liv to hit Oblivion. Liv puts her boot on Chelsea’s chest, Chelsea handles it better than some people have recently.

Solo Sikoa walks up to the Usos in the locker room. Jey says that he & Jimmy are the captains and call the plays tonight. Solo says they aren’t his captains and Roman isn’t his Tribal Chief. Solo says his current relationship with Roman isn’t their business and they should follow his lead. Jimmy is the voice of reason and says they need to stick together tonight.

Oba Femi is WALKING! We’ll hear from him next.

We hear various international announce teams calling Je’Von Evans crashing through the ambulance roof at Money in the Bank.

The fans chant “Oba” and bark, then Oba Femi’s music hits. Oba struts down to the ring. The Ruler is in a very good mood tonight. He asks if people saw Money in the Bank and what he did to Bronson Reed. He was told it was going to be Tsunami after Tsunami after Tsunami after Tsunami, all he saw was still waters, calm rivers & blue skies. There are no tsunamis in Louisiana, definitely none in Bossier City tonight. Bronson didn’t understand the hype, so he took a crash course and learned the same lesson every man that’s stepped up to him has. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done before, everyone will bend the knee. Now the Vision understands that and he can leave them in the rear view mirror on his way to fulfilling destiny.

Paul Heyman comes out and introduces himself. He’s glad Oba used the word “destiny”. He warned Bronson that he would have to hit him with a bunch of Tsunamis. He got one, then Oba got his shoulder up when no man had kicked out of the Tsunami in history. Oba did. The fans chant and bark. Paul says he agrees with them and enters the ring. When we look towards the future of WWE, Oba’s the guy. Paul couldn’t believe what he was watching, Oba was even better than he was against Brock Lesnar. It’s not like Oba needed to improve, Paul realized there’s no stopping him. Oba is the guy to lead WWE to the future. Oba cuts Paul off and tosses his microphone away. Oba tells Paul that with all due respect he’s not Brock Lesnar or Roman Reigns. Those are Paul Heyman guys, he’s an Oba Femi guy. Oba tosses the microphone down and struts out.

IYO SKY tells Adam Pearce she’s looking for her next challenge. Lyra Valkyria has a serious issue, she wants to know what Adam will do about Bayley. She’s ruining her life! Bayley watches from a distance and Lyra freaks out. Roxanne interrupts IYO and says she deserves a shot at the WWE Women’s Championship. Adam suggests she take it up with Nick Aldis. Roxanne says she forgot IYO existed. Raquel Rodriguez says she’s been on Raw a long time now, and remembers a time when IYO SKY meant something. IYO tells Adam she has found her next challenge and storms off.

JACKIE REDMOND is with LA Knight, who doesn’t want any flowers. Solo Sikoa comes up and tries to cheer him up. He should be proud! LA notes Solo’s current association with the Bloodline and says he doesn’t need an explanation. Solo asks if they’re good, and LA says they are in the tone that I’ve heard from many an ex-lover.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Chad Gable (c) vs. Rey Fenix: Lilian provides the championship in-ring introductions. Chad with a go-behind and a headlock. Fenix with a drop toehold, some quick covers and a standoff. Fenix with a chop, off the ropes, rana by Fenix. Chad blocks another one and goes for the ankle lock, Fenix finds the ropes. Fenix flips Gable to the floor, then headscissors him into the apron. Springboard moonsault off the middle turnbuckle to the floor by Fenix. We go to commercial!

Gable with a forearm. Fenix onto the apron, jumps over and Gable hits a Northern Lights suplex for two! Side legsweep by Gable, then a moonsault for a two count! Fenix blocks a Chaos Theory, flips over Gable, goes for a wheelbarrow suplex and Gable toes to the ankle lock! Fenix kicks his way out, kips up, spin kicks to Gable. Handspring by Fenix, Gable catches him, he gets a nearfall. Fenix goes off the ropes and spin kicks Gable down. Fenix rolls into an Angle Slam by Gable that gets two. Fenix trips Gable on the apron, delivers the Adios Amigo. A running dropkck sends Gable into the barricade. Fenix charges Gable and Gable overhead suplexes him into the barricade! Back in the ring, Fenix hits the rolling cutter for two. We go to commercial as the fans chant about it being awesome.

A superkick & a double underhook faceplant gets two for Fenix. Gable with some rolling German suplexes. A third one with a bridge gets two. Gable goes up top but Fenix with an uppercut. Fenix vaults up top and ranas Gable off the top! A springboard moonsault gets two for Fenix! Fenix kinda hits the running kick, then a frog splash gets a two count on Gable. Fenix with a kick in the corner, he puts Gable on the top turnbuckle and goes for the Mexican Musclebuster, Gable slips out, sends Fenix into the ropes and then gets an ankle lock! Fenix rolls through and goes for one of his own! Gable reverses it on Fenix! Fenix tries to kick out, then Gable grapevines it. Fenix is in the ropes! Gable misses in the corner, but then Germans Fenix into the corner! Gable up top, Fenix falls into the ropes and crotches him. Fenix goes for the Musclebuster again, Gable rolls out of it and goes back to the ankle lock with grapevine! Fenix has no choice but to tap out.

Winner: Chad Gable (12:56 shown via submission)
Match Rating: ***3/4
One of those matches I would have rated higher if I had the more expensive Netflix subscription. I’m a poor, it is what it is. Pretty much what you’d expect from these guys though, both are as good as it gets in the ring on this roster.

Chad helps Fenix up and gives him his AAA Cruiserweight Championship belt. They embrace and hold up each other’s hands.

Solo, Jey & Jimmy warm up in the locker room.
Byron Saxton is outside the trainer’s room where Stephanie Vaquer is being treated for an ankle injury. Stephanie comes out on crutches and says she’ll be ok. Every time she loses, she becomes stronger. Becky Lynch comes up and says she has no one to blame but herself, she’s the reason they both lost. Stephanie claims she did her a favor, Becky says she showed her who she really is. Stephanie doesn’t respect Becky anymore, and says she doesn’t need to be champion to kick her ass. Becky says not to wait too long and storms off.

Next Monday: Roman Reigns! Hendry vs. McDonagh!

Jackie is with Rey Fenix. Fenix says it was an incredible match and he wants to face Gable again soon. Ethan Page shows up and says Fenix did a good job of squandering the opportunity. He tells Fenix to stay in his lane and away from his opportunities, then sends Fenix into the cases! Chad Gable chases Page off and yells for medical.

Ms. Jaida Parker knocks on the door of the truck, and Royce Keys & OTM emerge. 946 will face Solo & the Usos next!

Solo Sikoa, Jimmy & Jey Uso vs. Royce Keys, Bronco Nima & Lucien Price (w/Jaida Parker): 946 makes their way out through the crowd with no music. They shoo Joe & Corey out of the way and stand on the announce desk. Jimmy & Jey come through the entranceway, then Solo comes out after them. Jaida gets on the apron and yells at them about how they ain’t about a damn thing. After some yeeting by the fans, all six men enter the ring. It’s a pier six brawl as we start. Solo & Royce go at it on the floor, Royce tosses Solo into the timekeeper’s area. Royce then gets in the ring and clotheslines both Usos. Big boot by Bronco on Jey. Price headbutts Jimmy down. Solo throws a chair at Royce, Bronco punches him until Jey dives onto him. Big Jim tumbleweeds onto Jey, Solo & OTM as we go picture in picture.

Jimmy rolls Price into the ring and fires away on him. Royce hits Jimmy in the back with a kendo stick and Price sends him down. Royce actually tags in, I wasn’t sure if we were doing that or not. Royce stomps away on Jimmy. Nima in the ring now for some punishment on Jimmy. Jimmy gets whipped into the turnbuckle. Price back in as we go back full screen.

Nima clubs Jimmy down. Bronco goes up top and stomps Jimmy down before knocking Jey off the apron. Jimmy sent shoulder first into the ringpost. Price sends Jey into the side of the ring. Nima rolls Jimmy into the ring and tags Keys in for some quick offense. Price clotheslines Jimmy in the corner. Jimmy hits a spin kick on Price and Solo wants a tag. Royce tags in and knocks Solo to the floor. Jey gets knocked to the floor as well, and Jimmy gets squashed in the corner. OTM lifts Jimmy up, but Jey comes in and breaks it up. Jey with some superkicks, then a spear to Price. Jimmy gets the tag to Solo, and he clotheslines Royce down. Royce with a kick, Solo no-sells and hits a Samoan drop. Hip attack in the corner, Royce drops down and Solo backs it up. Spinning Solo gets two. Jaida pulled the referee out of the ring, and she tosses him into the crowd! Solo yells at Jaida, Bronco comes from behind and is sent over the top rope. Bronco pulls Solo out and sends him into the barricade. Price slams Jimmy on the apron, Jey superkicks Price. Two Uso superkicks, and Price is sent into the crowd. Nima attacks from behind and he fights Jey in the crowd. Price & Jimmy fight in the crowd as well, then Jey gets hit with a trash can. Keys clears the announce desk with intentions to send Solo through it. Solo gets hit with the steps while OTM works Jimmy over. Jey climbs up and dives down onto OTM & Jimmy! Now Jaida is up where Jey was, and she dives down as well! Royce has Solo standing on the steps in front of the announce desk, Solo fights back and lifts Royce up! Samoan drop through the announce desk! Solo rolls Royce into the ring and goes up top, big splash! Solo motions for the spike! A mystery man attacks Solo with a tire iron! He pulls down the bandana…it’s Carmelo Hayes! What the hell? Solo gets hit with the tire iron again and Royce hits a spinebuster. OTM & the Usos return, and Hayes hits Jimmy with the tire iron! Jey gets hit in the gut twice with it. Price & Nima hit the double rack bomb on Jimmy. Royce says they’ll learn that ain’t nobody safe, and he sits in a chair. The rest of 946 stand behind him in celebration while Solo & the Usos are down. Our live event has ended, so long for now!

Winners: Nobody (18:48 via no contest, a bell never rang to officially end it)
Match Rating: ***
This was a perfectly fine brawl, nothing revolutionary but it was a good time and people seemed to enjoy it. Not sure what Carmelo’s connection is with these guys, but the group could use a good in-ring worker and he’ll fill that role well. I like it.

Tonight's Raw had some really good in-ring action with Gable & Fenix, set up the Chelsea/Liv issue while giving Roxanne something to do, and 946 added a new dimension to their group. Pretty solid effort this week, see ya tomorrow for NXT!
