– We open with highlights of last week’s Dunne vs. WALTER II and the union of Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel, & WALTER as WWE’s non-union NXT UK equivalent of RINGKAMPF. Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel, & WALTER arrive to kick off the show. Barthel tries to speak, but the crowd jeers him and chants for Dunne. He then says that they are here to lead you to a better NXT UK. To raise their flag and restore the professionalism of their sport; they will lead because they hold true power. Aichner says Dunne & British Strong Style have only gotten them so far and have expired. They have a responsibility to lead. WALTER says the mat is sacred, and they are now known as Imperium. British Strong Style arrives and heads to the ring for the big brawl. A cameraman goes down and the feed intentionally cuts out to end the segment. I liked this as Imperium is officially named and they immediately started the feud with British Strong Style, which made sense coming out of last week.
– Sid Scala is interviewed and books Imperium vs. British Strong Style in two weeks.
Mark Coffey & Wolfgang vs. Carlos Romo & A-Kid: Gallus runs wild at the bell, isolating Romo and tossing him around. A-Kid tags in and follows with strikes but Mark cuts him off with a chokeslam. Wolfgang tags in and double teams follow. Mark grounds things, and then works a full nelson. He swings him around and slams him down. Mark misses a knee drop but cuts off Romo. Wolfgang in and the pop up powerslam follows for the win. Mark Coffey & Wolfgang defeated Carlos Romo & A-Kid @ 3:25 via pin [**] This was a fine squash.
– Xia Brookside comments on Jinny & Jazzy Gabert’s attack. Isla Dawn arrives and proposes they team up.
– Joseph Conners cuts a promo on Ilja Dragunov.
– They hype next week’s #1 contender’s four-way match with a tournament recap video.
Kassius Ohno vs. Jack Gallagher: They lockup and Ohno grounds the action. Gallagher counters out and they work to the ropes for a clean break. Ohno takes him down and starts working the leg, but Gallagher escapes. He rushes Ohno to the ropes and they break. Ohno takes him down, going back to the leg and then starts working the arm. Gallagher counters into a head scissors, but Ohno escapes. Gallagher works for a takedown, gets it and Ohno immediately counters and locks on a full nelson. Gallagher escapes, but Ohno grounds him. They lockup and Ohno overpowers Gallagher, and grounds him and starts looking for covers. Gallagher counters out and does a corner headstand. He rolls into a ball and Ohno lays the boots to him and follows with strikes. The cover follows for 2. He attacks the leg, grounding Gallagher but Gallagher escapes until Ohno lays him out with a big boot for 2. The cravat follows, but Gallagher hits a head butt and dropkick. He attacks the arm and rolls for an arm bar. He transitions to a triangle, Ohno powers up and escapes and hits a senton. They trade strikes, chops, and Ohno hits ahead butt and rolling elbow for 3… Gallagher had a foot under the ropes but the ref didn’t see it. Kassius Ohno defeated Jack Gallagher @ 12:45 via pin [***¼] This was a really good and crafty technical battle until Ohno got frustrated and made it dirty, picking up the disputed win.
– Piper Niven says she’s ready to face Rhea Ripley.
Champion Toni Storm vs. Nina Samuels: They lock up and separate. Lock up again and they work the ropes. They work into counters, and Nina works a cravat. Storm counters out and kicks her to the floor. Back in and Storm hits the basement dropkick for 2. She follows with uppercuts, covering for 2. Nina cuts her off with grounded strikes, and then lays the boots to her. The dropkick follows for 2. Nina grounds things, and then slaps Storm around and chokes her out. The Hennig neck snap follows for 2. Storm fires back, but Nina trips her up and then covers for 2. She follows with strikes, but Storm picks up the pace and hits a German. The enziguri follows, but Nina counters Storm zero. Storm catches her with an STF, and Nina makes the ropes. They trade strikes on the apron and Nina hits a head kick and slingshot splash for 2. She heads up top and drops down and hits a back breaker. Storm counters ushigoroshi with a head butt for 2. Storm follows with a German for 2. Nina follows with a back breaker for 2. Nina up top, Storm cuts her off but Nina shoves her off and follows with a missile dropkick for 2. Head butt by Storm and rolling suplexes and Storm zero finishes it. Champion Toni Storm defeated Nina Samuels @ 9:50 via pin [**¾] Nina Samuels is really good at her character work and has a great look, but she loses a lot of that shine when the bell rings. The match was pretty good, but Nina was never a believable challenger here and was ultimately just a challenger of the week.
– Next Week: Travis Banks, Joe Coffey, Jordan Devlin, & Mastiff are locked into the #1 contender’s fatal four-way,
– End Scene.
– Thanks for reading.
