Hey all, after 6-weeks in the hospital and physical therapy facility following a severe infection and above knee amputation of my left leg, I am back in action. Please bare with me as my typing is a bit slow after so much time off and the reviews may be a bit different until I get back into form. Thank you.

The Big Dawg Speaks: Roman Reigns made his return to address his battle with leukemia. He got an amazing reaction that you could see meant a lot to him. He thanked the fans, admitted that he was afraid to reveal his battle, but said that their support made it ok and gave him strength. It have him a new purpose, and plans to use his platform to support those that need it. His update is that he’s in remission and he’s back. A genuinely moving segment filled with Raw emotion and the best news possible.

Aleister Black & Ricochet vs. The Revival: The Revival attacked before the bell, but were quickly sent to the floor and ate dives; hot start. Post break, it was all action and Black quickly ended things with black mass. Aleister Black & Ricochet defeated The Revival @ 3:30 via pin [**] This had great energy but was a bit sloppy. I’m glad the NXT guys are winning, but that’s two losses in a row for the tag champs, which I am not the biggest fan of. Hopefully we get a triple threat at Fastlane.

– Baron Corbin threatened Reigns.

– Lacey Evans and then Dean Ambrose interrupt Elias; Ambrose laid him out with dirty deeds.

Natalya & Rousey vs. Riott Squad w/Liv: The Squad took early control, working quick tags, Liv got involved and taken out quickly. The Squad then took the heat on Natalya post break, but it didn’t last long as Rousey got the hot tag and ran wild. It broke down and Rousey hit Piper’s Pit. Becky Lynch arrived, took out Natalya and we got a DQ. Rousey & Lynch then beat on police and agents, leading to a pull apart. Riott Squad defeated Natalya & Rousey @ 9:45 via DQ [**] The match was ok, but the angle with Lynch really helped the whole thing as the brawl had good heat.

– Rousey then called out Vince, but got Stephanie. She wanted Becky reinstated, and Stephanie to get her out of jail to make the Mania match, the crowd chanted for a triple threat, but Steph refused her request. Rousey stood up to her, and proclaimed that they had made the title worthless, and left without it to make her point that she wouldn’t listen.

– Steph & HHH left the building stunned.

– Jinder Mahal ran down Ric Flair, and issued an open challenge to anyone invited to Flair’s party since he wasn’t invited.

Kurt Angle vs. Jinder Mahal: After a distraction from the Singhs, Mahal attacked and controlled early on. 45-seconds in this asshole put on a chinlock because he has no idea how to do anything else. More rest holds until Angle made a comeback, hitting Germans, the ankle lock and Mahal tapped. Kurt Angle defeated Jinder Mahal @ 2:59 via submission [NR] Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…

A Moment of Bliss: Finn Balor is her guest. Bliss ran down Rousey and offered to take her place before marveling at Balor’s abs. Lio interrupted, Balor stirred the pot between Lio & Lashley and offered him an IC title shot.

IC Champion Finn Balor vs. Lio Rush: They worked a really fun and fast-paced opening stretch, with Lio running wild until Balor blocked the frog splash. Lio managed to maintain control, taking out the knee, and grounding Balor. They worked into some back and forth, with good near falls and Lio continuing focus on the knee of Balor. Balor managed to cut him of, and the double stomp finally put Lio away. IC Champion Finn Balor defeated Lio Rush @ 7:40 via pin [***] This was a good match with a fun and engaging pace. Lio looked really good and crisp with Balor giving him a ton of offense.

– Lashley yells at Lio backstage for not getting him an IC title shot.

Braun Strowman vs. Lashley: Lio is out with Lashley. Lashley attacked before the bell and took early control. Braun quickly cut him off started to run him over, and left standing tall. No actual match; Braun smash.

– Seth Rollins promises to beat Brock at Mania, and is happy to have Roman back.

Dean Ambrose vs. Drew McIntyre: They immediately brawled on the floor as Dean was out for revenge from last week. My cable died as Corbin, Lashley, Elias, & Drew kicked the shit out of Dean. Seth & Roman made the save, but no official Shield reunion. While there was no official reunion, the tease was good, I’d expect a Shield trios match at Fastlane.

Nia Jax vs. Bayley: Banks & Tamina are at ringside. This is part of the set up for the tag title match at Fastlane. Jax dominated early, using her power game. She’s still sloppy, but Bayley sold well. Jax slowed things post break, continuing with the power game, but Bayley picked up the pace until Jax ran her over and pummeled her. Bayley fired up and mounted a comeback, sending Jax to the floor. Unfortunately, Jax cut her off with a tree of WHOA, Banks helped out and Bayley hit the top rope elbow for the win. Bayley defeated Nia Jax @ 9:15 via pin [*] Bayley worked hard, but it was largely sloppy and disjointed.

Happy Birthday Ric Flair: The roster is on the stage. HHH & Steph hosted. There is a cake, someone is going in there. HBK, Steamboat, Angle, and Sting were then brought to the ring. Flair was finally announced following a great video package. BUT BATISTA ARRIVED AND DRAGGED HIS LIMP CARCASS AROUND TO GET HHH’S ATTENTION! HHH rushed to make the save only for big Dave to escape. I liked the end overall, they paid some tribute to Flair, and did a good misdirection as I think most expected Becky getting involved, only to set up HHH vs. Batista for Mania.

– End scene.

– Thanks for reading.

I thought tonight’s Raw was a solid show, with the great opening segment, some build to Fastlane, and the set up for Batista vs. HHH.
