It was reported earlier this week that AEW has signed Tony Schiavone to a multi-year contract and announced that he will join Jim Ross and Excalibur as part of the broadcast team. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has more details about Schiavone’s role in the company but notes that he will not be part of the broadcast team for All Out this Saturday.

The Observer stated that the team that will call the action this Saturday will be Ross, Alex ‘Goldenboy’ Mendez nd Excalibur. Schiavone will be ‘calling some stuff’ in the future. He will also miss other shows for his commitments to the University of Georgia, where he is a producer for the football and baseball games. As far as AEW, he will work in the studio in Atlanta with Cody and will be a senior producer. His other commitments include an announcer for AAA Atlanta Braves affiliate the Gwinnett Stripes and of course MLW. Court Bauer worked with AEW and Tony Khan to make this deal and Schiavone will work for MLW “100 percent for years to come.”

Meanwhile, Alex Marvez is expected to remain a part of the broadcast team in some form, but it hasn’t been decided how. For now, he will work All Out in a backstage role and will film additional content going forward. A lot of broadcast plans are “in flux”, but Ross and Excalibur are said to be the “fixtures” on the team.
