Goldberg Reunites With Firefighter He Met At Ground Zero After 9/11

Goldberg reportedly had an emotional reunion with a New York firefighter he initially met at Ground Zero after the 9/11 attacks. PWInsider reports the moment went down during a signing at the Hempstead Spring Dust-Off Car Show in Long Island, New York.

According to the outlet, the WWE Hall of Famer was visited during the signing appearance. The firefighter showed a picture of them together at Ground Zerio and a surprised Goldberg embraced the man. He then told the ground who the man was, calling him a hero and asking to give him a standing ovation, which happened. The two spoke for several moments before exchanging phone numbers.

The site notes that this was the first time they had met since their first meeting in 2001 and that it was “a really nice, emotional moment.”

Goldberg retired from the ring at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in July of last year, losing his final match to Gunther.
