Penelope Ford is currently out of action with an ankle injury, and a new report has an update on how long she may be out. As noted, Ford suffered an ankle injury during the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship match on the February 25th episode of AEW Dynamite. Ford suffered the injury while hitting an Asai moonsault on Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron, leading to her being taken out of the match. It was later determined to be an ankle sprain.
A fan question in the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A asked if there was an update on how long Ford would be out of action. As Sean Ross Sapp notes, the initial fear was that Ford had broken her ankle. With the injury “just” a sprain, she should be out of action for a matter of weeks as opposed to much longer.
The report notes that there was “a lot of optimism” after Ford was able to do a digital interview with Lena Kross and Megan Bayne after the show. Ford appeared alongside the two and sent a message to the Babes of Wrath, saying, “Now, you’ve taken a piece of us, but it will be the last thing that you will ever do.”
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Ford for a quick and full recovery.
