– As previously reported, WWE released Spanish-language announcer Jerry Soto on Friday (Nov. 6). Soto later released a statement (via SuperLuchas.com; translated from Spanish using Google) on his release:
Hi. Officially, I don’t have a job. I’m taking a bit of your time to tell you that I’ve been on furlough since March. Now, the time has come to get another job, preferably acting . I write it here so that you have me in mind with employment opportunities. Thanks for your time. It is not the end, but another beginning. If you’ve lost your job too, patience, joy and strength, and everyone, a disinfected hug!
Soto had been with WWE since October 2011. The company released what’s believed to be about 10 to 15 employees on Friday. Many of them were behind the scenes staff in Stamford. Longtime ring announcer Tony Chimel was also released.
