John Cena Says He Would Go Back in Time To Face Andre the Giant at WrestleMania

Speaking during a recent panel at Fan Expo Chicago, WWE Superstar John Cena was asked if he could go back in time to face any wrestler at WrestleMania, who would he want to face. John Cena named none other than late WWE Hall of Famer Andre the Giant.

John Cena said about Andre the Giant (via Fightful), “Just selfishly, Andre, because he was like the measuring stick. The folklore behind Andre the Giant is mythical, and both physical as his presence, but also in the folklore of the fraternity of the Brotherhood of Wrestling, especially the WWF territory.” He continued, “I’m sure it’s across the world, because Andre was a global phenomenon, but… Selfishly, yes. That’d be the one, Andre the Giant.”

John Cena continues his Farewell Tour later this weekend, as he faces AJ Styles in a singles bout at WWE Crown Jewel Perth. The premium live event is scheduled for Saturday, October 11 at the RAC Arena in Perth Australia. It will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
