It’s the busiest week of the year for wrestling fans and I am absolutely here for it. I love WrestleMania week because it feels like the entire scope of wrestling gets more exciting. Impact isn’t live tonight but they do have their upcoming multiverse of matches show tomorrow. Until then they’ve got a banger of a match card on tap for tonight. Jonathan Gresham is back in the Impact zone to take on Kenny King. We’ll also see a rematch between the MCMG and Chris Bey/Jay White of The Bullet Club. Josh Alexander will face off with Madman Fulton and Johnny Swinger begins the Chump Chump challenge. Tonight has a variety of things on tap but i’m sure it’ll be a fun show let’s get to the action!
Impact opens with a recap of the events this weekend and Moose showing up at Josh Alexander’s house to attack his wife. We then cut to Josh arriving backstage and talking with Scott D’Amore. Scott says he’s going to recommend Moose be stripped of the championship. Josh is pissed off and grabs Scott by the coat. He tells Scott he needs to beat Moose for the championship, noone else and then walks off. The relationship between Scott and Josh continues to grow more tense due to Moose. Hopefully this angry outburst doesn’t hurt Josh down the line.
Jonathan Gresham vs. Kenny King
Gresham grabs a mic before the show and says he came here to show the essence of Ring of Honor. He then brings up how Honor No More came around to show the opposite of what Ring of Honor stands for, honorable respectable men like CM Punk, Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson and Eddie Edwards others. He says that Edwards has lost that honor. Gresham tells us that he will face Eddie Edwards at Rebellion and then is interrupted by Kenny King. King says Gresham should be standing by Honor No More but he’s not because he’s really an octopus all arms and no brain. King says he doesn’t want the worthless piece of metal from a dead company that is the ROH Championship. They drop the mics and get the match started, jaw jacking momentarily before locking up. The referee splits them up and King nails Gresham with a right hand. Gresham recovers and we get some chain wrestling between the two before King sends Gresham to the outside. Gresham back in the ring quickly and waits for King to join him. King back in the ring and sends Gresham to the apron but gets tied up by Gresham in an arm submission. King rakes at the eyes of Gresham then hangs him up on the top rope by his shoulder. King with a dive to the outside onto Gresham and follows it with some trash talk and forearms. King rolls into the ring to reset the count and then hits Gresham with a snapsuplex on the outside. Back in the ring and Gresham regains control with a dropkick to King. Gresham catches King with a chop, sends him into the opposing corner and hits another chop. King tries to counter and sends Gresham into the other corner but he counters and hits an inverted dragonscrew on King in the ropes. Gresham with a dive from the top ropes onto King but King dodges and does Naito’s tranquilo pose for some reason as we go to break.
Back from break and King is in control, he has Gresham in the corner and is laying into him with strikes and kicks. He pulls Gresham out of the corner and hits some sweet kick and follows with a cover for two. King lifts Gresham on his shoulders, Gresham counters and looks for a submission but King slaps Gresham in the face. Gresham gets pissed and bends King’s knee backwards and forces him to the mat. King sells the knee and gets rolled up multiple times but kicks out everytime. Gresham with a big stomp to the injured leg and follows with a forearm and cover for two. Gresham goes for another hold but takes a slap from King. King lifts Gresham up but gets rolled up for two. Gresham looking for a figure four but gets sent into the turnbuckle face first. King with a full nelson snapsuplex. King with the tiger driver and covers Gresham for a two count. King lifts Gresham on his shoulders again but Gresham slips out and goes for a figure four but gets rolled up for two. King to his feet but his leg gives out. Gresham with a kick to the leg and follows into the figure four. King fights the pain but keeps falling back into a pinning position and finally Gresham to his feet for leverage with the figure four and gets the pin in 12:05.
Rating: ***1/4
Review: This was a really solid technically worked match. Typically I hate figure four pinfall finishes but this was actually really well done. They didn’t do anything too crazy but this was a solid tv match no doubt.
Post match: Immediately after the match Eddie Edwards hits the ring and attacks Jonathan Gresham. Edwards waits to continue the attack and Rocky Romero hits the ring to make the save. They send Honor No More running.
– Gia is backstage with The Motor City Machine Guns they discuss their upcoming match with the Bullet Club. Shelley reminds Jay White that he helped teach him a lot but must not have taught him math because a three count equals a win in wrestling. Sabin talks up his match with White tomorrow.
-Backstage with Gia again this time with Deonna Purrazzo and Deonna says that she will continue to push boundaries for Impact as she has tons of options for who her opponent could be for the champ champ challenge in Dallas.
Chump Chump Challenge
Johnny Swinger & Zicky Dice vs. The Good Brothers
Swinger takes the mic before the match and tells all the mizzarks in the crowd to listen to him and he calls out two ham an eggers to come out and face him and Zicky. He says its time for the chump chump challenge! The Good Brothers accept the challenge and this doesn’t seem to be what Swinger had in mind. Swinger talks up Zicky as the match gets started and Zicky walks right into a right hand from Gallows. Zicky walks right into a fall away slam from Gallows. He lines Zicky up in the corner and hits him with a big splash followed by a big boot. Gallows tags in Karl and they hit the magic killer on Zicky. Karl covers for the victory in :50. Swingers refusal to tag in or make a save was wonderful as was his post match antics checking on Zicky.
Rating; N/A
Review: Solid for what it was, just a match to give the Good Brothers momentum leading up to their big matches on the horizon.
Gia is backstage and asks why the Good Brothers accepted the Chump Chump Challenge. Karl says that what they just saw is how they became the best tag team in the game. Gallows says they got screwed by Honor No More but that’s ok because at Rebellion they’re going through seven more teams and they hope Honor No More is involved in the tag team gauntlet. Gallows says we’re going to find out exactly how many bullets are in the Briscoes gun. There’s some yelling in the background and PCO is screaming for JONAHHHHH. Apparently PCO yelled for Jonah through an entire commercial. We come back and finally Jonah is here, geez where was this dude. They’re brawling in the back and this is the cinematic match I never knew I needed. JONAH with a powerbomb onto PCO into a pile of garbage and then lays into him with shots to the face. Jonah has a sledgehammer and starts hitting PCO with it in the gut. He sets a big brick on PCO and breaks it over his stomach. PCO screams in pain then sits right up and grabs Jonah for a chokeslam. Jonah breaks the hold and shoves PCO off but PCO sends him face first into a breaker box however there’s no electrocution or sparks so WWE’s games are a fraud. PCO sets Jonah up into a truck and slams the door on him over and over before leaving him laying. PCO starts shoveling strategically placed dirt over the body of the fallen Jonah.
Madman Fulton vs. Josh Alexander
Fulton was someone who stood out early on in me getting back into Impact so a match against Impact’s ace Josh Alexander should be really really good. They start off hot with Fulton going for a big boot, Josh dodges and hits Fulton with a suplex right on his neck. He charges Fulton in the corner but almost eats a big boot, instead Josh sets Fultons leg up on the top rope and dumps him to the outside. Josh heads to the outside and lays into Fulton with forearms and tosses him back into the ring. Josh goes for the c4 spike but it’s too early and Fulton counters out. Fulton goes for a chokeslam, Josh counters with a forearm then a suplex. Josh with a powerbomb on Fulton and rolls through into an ankle lock. Fulton fights for the ropes but Josh pulls him back in the center and Fulton taps in 1:40.

Review: Well I hoped this would be longer and Fulton would get more but I totally get going in this direction. The post match was fine but it didn’t do a lot for me, I get Josh is pissed but talk about misdirected anger.
Post match: Josh refuses to let go of the hold and Ace jumps in to break the hold but Josh stares him down and forces him to retreat. Josh stares him down and says that’s what I thought. Fulton catches Josh from behind with a forearm but Josh goes right back to the ankle lock and twists the boot off the leg of Fulton possibly breaking the ankle of Fulton. Ace continues to retreat leaving his guy hanging.
Mike Bailey is watching the events of the previous match unfold and Trey Miguel walks up. Trey tells him to keep an eye on Ace as he saw what he just did to his partner for a lot longer than Mike. Bailey looks at Trey and tells him hes fine because he always expects the unexpected.
– We see footage of Mickie James last week and shes pissed at Chelsea and Matt for attacking her. Mickie says that Matt will pay for this when Nick Aldis gets his hands on him. Mickie says at the Multiverse of Matches it’ll be the Mid-Cardonas vs. Al-Dis.
– Gia is backstage with Matt Cardona and asks about their upcoming match. Cardona answers briefly before sending Chelsea to answer for him. Chelsea says that Mickie has asked countless times for Chelsea not to help but at Sacrifice Mickie came running to help Chelsea. Chelsea says she doesnt need saving and Mickie’s been tied up and she never gave her a shot at the championship and now she cant but she can get a shot at Mickie. Matt Cardona comes out and says tomorrow they’ll show why they’re the power couple of pro wrestling.
Knockouts Championship #1 Contenders Battle Royal
The winner of this match will be the #1 contender for the Knockouts Championship at Rebellion. Savanah Evans is the final entrant and Tasha Steelz joins her so she can sit at commentary during the match. A number of women on the knockouts roster are present for this match. Including The Influence, Decay, Jordynne Grace, Alisha Edwards, Gisele Shaw, Lady Frost, Jessica Mckay and others. Alisha looks to attack Havok but Decay use their numbers to take control of Lish and send her out of the match first. Everyone bands together to send Havok out of the match and Rosemary is lost without her partner. Grace turns her attention to Shaw and attacks her in the corner. Mckay tries to toss Madison Rayne but she’s stopped by Tenille. Tenille sends Mckay on the apron and Kalebs on the outside taking pictures. The Influence yell at Kaleb on his way up the ramp. Savanah lifts Jessie up and tosses her out of the ring. Savanah and Jordynne square off and start exchanging strikes. Evans sends Grace into the ropes and lifts her over the top onto the apron. Evans with a big boot to Grace and shes dumped out. Evans gets caught off guard by Shaw, Frost and Rosemary. The final three square off and exchange forearms. Rosemary with a slingblade to Frost. Shaw with a superkick to Frost. Frost back in control on the top rope but Shaw breaks it up sending her to the mat. Shaw sends Rosemary onto the apron with Frost. Shaw tries to eliminate Frost and Rosemary. They counter and grab her to pull her out. Rosemary manages to eliminate both Shaw and Frost to pick up the victory in 7:15.
Rating: **
Review: It wasn’t much but it was a fine battle royal. I get why Frost and Shaw were two of the final women but I wish they would just put a much stronger emphasis on the core 5 or 6 really talented women rather than trying to make Shaw relevant. That said I can’t blame them for trying and im just glad Rosemary won over them so not all bad.
– We get a recap of BTI and Black Taurus pinning Deaner. They hype that this could set up a match between Decay and the current tag champions.
– Eric Young has his typical Violent By Design video package this time talking about the Good Brothers saying they took everything they held dear. Eric mentions the loss to Taurus and says that the sickness can still take from them. Just the typical Eric Young promo, these are never bad but for me there losing steam now as they’re just the same thing every week about different opponents maybe.
Aiden Prince vs. Bhupinder Gujjar
Brian Meyers is here yet again to do commentary for Gujjar’s match. Can’t imagine we might see W. Morrisey show up. Meyers sure does seem to do repetitive stuff every week that just flat out sucks. The Learning Tree did nothing for me and the commentary stuff is just repetitive and lame. Gujjar kicks this one off quick but Prince locks in a headlock on Gujjar, Gujjar sends him into the ropes but catches him with a forearm. Prince bounces off the ropes again and takes a shoulderblock that sends him to the outside. Prince on the apron and Gujjar brings him back inside. Prince begs for forgiveness but Gujjar just tosses him out again, this kid cant run the ropes he just keeps falling out of the ring. Prince tries to walk away but Gujjar grabs him and brings him back to the ring. Gujjar with a chop on the outside and follows it with a forearm to the face. Gujjar sends Prince back into the ring and into the corner but takes a kick from Prince. Prince with a dive onto Gujjar but he catches him with a slam and covers for two. Gujjar lifts Prince up and sends him into the corner but runs right into a big boot from Prince. Prince with forearms into Gujjars face and then stomps away at his leg and head. Meyers love the aggression out of Prince. Prince gets Gujjar in the corner and stomps away at him then backs up and hits a running boot in the corner, he goes for another but Gujjar hits him with the slingblade. Gujjar lifts him up for the powerslam again and covers but Prince kicks out again. This jobber sure is showing some fight against Gujjar. Gujjar sends Prince into the ropes and onto the shoulders but he fights free and hits a stalling suplex on Gujjar. Prince to the top, he goes for a 450 but Gujjar moves, Gujjar loads up the corner spear and covers Prince for the victory in 4:36.
Rating: **
Review: I didn’t really enjoy or understand the psychology of this match. Prince actually did a decent job as a heel but i highly doubt we will see him again or often so what’s the point of him getting so much offense on Gujjar. I would’ve loved to see Gujjar win with something else so that way the corner spear can feel special and get set up naturally, instead the powerslam happened twice and instead had to go to the corner spear for the finish. Gujjar has been fine but i’m not sure their plan with him is working yet.
Post match: Of course Morrisey comes out and brawls with Meyers. He lifts Meyers up for a powerbomb but Meyers grabs Prince’s leg to stop himself. Prince shoves Morrisey because apparently even though he wanted to walk out of his previous fight he wants one with Morrisey. Morrisey with the powerbomb to the jobber through the table. I get it it’s two segments in one to get two guys over with one jobber, but I think it’s getting tired.
Masha Slamovich vs. Abby Jane
Masha really should’ve been in and won the women’s rumble. We’ve seen plenty of Masha squashes at this point time to move her up. Masha turns he back on Abby and Jane momentarily attacks her but that ends quickly with a suplex then a kick to the back of the head to Abby. Masha lifts Abby up for the snowplow and covers her for the victory in :48.
Rating: N/A
Review: It’s not bad but I think it’s time to move on from squash matches and onto legitimate matches for Masha or at least a drawn out feud.
The Bullet Club vs. The Motor City Machine Guns
These two teams had a fantastic match just a few weeks back and it ended a bit early due to some referee miscues but this week the Bullet Club hopes to right their wrongs. Jay with a suplex to Sabin, Art of finesse to Sabin and Bey covers. Jay blocks Shelley from breaking it up allowing Bey to get the victory in 17:42.

Review: This was an awesome super high paced match. I think down the end it did get a bit too hectic even for me but I also could be a bit bias because it was just hard to keep up with on the recap. Overall this was an awesome match and could lead to a third rubber match down the line that i’d love. These two teams are awesome together and its so sick to get the nostalgia from all the work the Guns do even though they still look damn near as young as the old days. This was a fantastic main event.
