Kazuchika Okada Says He, Tomohiro Ishii & Hiroshi Tanahashi Will Heat Up NJPW In 2024

Kazuchika Okada sees big things on the horizon for NJPW in 2024 between himself, Tomohiro Ishii and Hiroshi Tanahashi. The trio defended the NEVER Six-Man Tag Team Championships at NJPW’s Road to Tokyo Dome show on Thursday, and Okada spoke about the match and what’s to come after the bout.

“It might be too early to decide Match of the Year, but matches like this one is why these NEVER Six-Man Tag Team Titles are gaining prestige,” Okada said (per Fightful). “We’re gonna keep defending these belts next year and heat up NJPW more than ever.”

He continued, “We’re going to heat up both the singles and tag divisions. We’re not just limiting ourselves to tag matches. We can liven things up in a lot of ways. We’re gonna carry this place on our backs. We’re the team that can handle it.”

Okada will battle Bryan Danielson at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 at the start of the year.
