The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Komander, who made his AEW debut on this past Wednesday’s Dynamite, was working without a contract. He was involved in the Face of the Revolution ladder match along with Eddie Kingston, Ortiz, Konosuke Takeshita, Sammy Guevara, Action Andretti, AR Fox and winner Powerhouse Hobbs.

Komander is believed to be “on WWE radar”, but is currently under contract with KAOZ in Mexico. He couldn’t sign with WWE, AEW or anywhere without the approval of KAOZ.

It was also noted that Tony Khan originally wanted El Hijo del Vikingo to be the one to debut in the ladder match. However, Vikingo wasn’t available so AEW asked for Komander.

Konnan works with the promotion and previously told them to sign Komander, Dinamico, Sexy Star and Dulce Canela before other companies could, which would prevent KAOZ from using them. The idea is that they would eventually work together and KAOZ would allow that talent to sign with AAA, but that hasn’t happened yet. It also wasn’t a priority since AAA is already allowed to use them.
