Kota Ibushi Gives New Update In Injury Recovery, Vows To Make Comeback

Kota Ibushi has provided a positive new update on his recovery from injury, noting that he’s taking a big step in the process. As previously reported, Ibushi suffered a broken femur during a match on AEW Collision against Josh Alexander back in October. At the time, Ibushi noted that doctors told him he wouldn’t be fully recovered for a year and wouldn’t be cleared to compete for two, but that he didn’t believe such and planned to be back sooner.
The AEW star posted to his Instagram late Tuesday night to provide a video of him in the ring. He noted that he stepped into the ring for the first time since his injury.
Ibushi wrote:
“It’s been six months since I was in the ring. I was terrified. But nothing is impossible. If I try, I can do it. One of my legs isn’t dead yet. My neck is fine too. It hurts. It hurts a lot. But I’m aiming to make a comeback.
“Today, I stepped into the ring for the first time in six months. I still can’t run, but I was able to take bumps and even did a moonsault press using one leg at the end! I’m definitely going to make a comeback. I’m going to break through my limits. I’m growing every day.
I’m fine being stupid. Hahaha
But please don’t give up yet, everyone, and keep supporting us. I promise.”
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Ibushi as he continues to recover from his injury.
