Kris Statlander & Toni Storm Show Each Other Respect in Promo Segment on AEW Dynamite

Kris Statlander and Toni Storm avoided coming to insults — though not to blows — in their promo segment on this week’s AEW Dynamite ahead of their match at WrestleDream. Wednesday night’s episode saw the two stars, who will compete for Statlander’s Women’s World Championship, share the ring for a verbal back and forth. Renee Paquette served as the moderator for the dueling promos.

The promo started in the backstage area, and Storm told Statlander that she took the title for granted when she had it. She added that she is a blank canvas without the Women World Title and doesn’t know who she is without it. Storm told Statlander that she loves her but will go through her to get the title back, and that Statlander will have to kill her to hold onto the championship.

Statlander spoke about how she has kept evolving and is a different woman than the one Storm lost the title to at All Out. She vowed to outlive everything in the universe and wished Storm Godspeed.

The two eventually left the backstage area and went to the ring, where they had a brief battle that Statlander got the better of. Storm begged Statlander to hit her with the title belt and Statlander refused. Statlander offered to give Storm a free shot with the title and Storm similarly turned it down. She kissed Statlander’s head and then walked away.

The two will compete for the title at AEW WrestleDream, which takes place on Saturday from the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri. 411 will have live coverage of the show.
