Kurt Angle Wishes Brock Lesnar Well In Retirement

Brock Lesnar lost quickly to Oba Femi in the opener of WWE WrestleMania 42 Sunday in Las Vegas. Femi survived an F-5 and a trip to Suplex City from Lesnar and battled back and later retaliated with a Fall From Grace to score the pinfall victory. The win essentially cements Oba Femi’s status as the next huge star for WWE.
After the match, Lesnar sparked retirement speculation as he removed his gloves and boots, perhaps symbolically signaling his retirement. Lesnar then embraced his longtime friend and onscreen manager, Paul Heyman. The moment appeared to be a curtain call for the 48-year-old Beast Incarnate.
Heyman raised Lesnar’s arm, and Lesnar then took a victory lap of sorts, standing up in the corner and playing to the crowd. He then sat in the middle of the ring and took a final bow before leaving the ring with Heyman. Lesnar appeared grateful to the warm reception he received from fans after the match, and he continued playing to the crowd before heading backstage.
After the match, Kurt Angle wished Lesnar well in retirement. Lesnar and Angle are long-time friends and have had iconic matches together in WWE including headlining WrestleMania 19. Angle’s tweet is below.
“Love you my brother. There will only be one like you. Enjoy retirement Brock.”
