WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda Reportedly in Hospice Care

During an interview with Bill Apter for 1Wrestling Video, WWE Hall of Famer and wrestling legend Barry Windham revealed that his brother-in-law and former tag team partner, Mike Rotunda, is currently in hospice care (see below).
When Apter initially asked Windham about Rotunda’s late son, Bray Wyatt, Windham later commented on Rotunda’s medical care. Windham stated, “Mike is in hospice right now.” No other details regarding Rotunda’s health situation are available as of yet.
Windham said on the Rotunda family, “Anyway, this family, I love that family, but you know, it’s just so tragic.” He later added, “I would like for you all to pray for Mike.”
Former WWE Women’s Champion Leilani Kai later shared a message regarding Mike Rotunda on social media. She wrote, “It breaks my heart to share that my friend Mike Rotunda has been placed under hospice care. 💔 This photo was from earlier this year — a moment I’ll treasure. Please keep Mike and the Rotunda family in your prayers. We love you, Mike. ❤️ #WrestlingFamily”
The 67-year-old Rotunda is a former five-time WWE Tag Team Champion, having held the title twice with Windham as the tag team U.S. Express in the 1980s, and later held the belts three times with fellow WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase, as Money Inc.
Rotunda also held the NWA World Tag Team Titles and the World TV title under Jim Crockett Promotions/WCW in the 1980s. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024 alongside Windham as a member of the U.S. Express.
In terms of wrestling history, Rotunda competed at the first WrestleMania, over forty years ago, in March 1985. The U.S. Express lost the WWE Tag Team Championships to the team of The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff.
Rotunda is likely best known to fans of the WWE Universe as the infamous heel, Irwin R. Schyster, aka IRS. He debuted the gimmick in 1991. He later formed the tag team Money Inc. with Ted DiBiase.
Mike Rotunda is also the father of the late former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt (aka Windham Rotunda) and current WWE Superstar Bo Dallas/Uncle Howdy (aka Taylor Rotunda). Wyatt tragically passed away in August 2023 at the age of 36.
