More on Travel Issues That Almost Kept Claudio Castagnoli From NJPW Dominion

As previously reported, Claudio Castagnoli had travel issues that nearly kept him off the card for last weekend’s NJPW Dominion. Castagnoli teamed with Jon Moxley and Shota Umino in a loss to Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii and Hiroshi Tanahashi. However the match almost didn’t happen and New Japan had to change the match order so Claudio could be a part of it.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Castagnoli arrive at Osaka Jo Hall at the beginning of the match between Hiromu Takahashi and Master Wato. This was the match immediately before his, which didn’t give him much time to prepare, around 25 minutes.

The problem was because of three delayed flights, one cancelled flight, and another fight that was scheduled, but missed due to the delays. At one point, it was believed he’d have to change into his gear on the drive over from the airport and then immediately get to the ring.

Castagnoli kept everyone updated throughout his ordeal and his match was moved to where it was to give him more time.
