Mustafa Ali Explains Why the Retribution Angle Ultimately Failed

– During a recent interview with WrestleBinge by Sportskeeda, WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali discussed the failure of his stable Retribution in WWE and why the storyline didn’t work. Below are some highlights (via WrestlingInc.com):

Mustafa Ali on Retribution: “Retribution — the fatal thing about it [is] it never had a why. I didn’t come up with the concept of Retribution, I didn’t come up with the names or the masks. I was just kind of given the thing. But at the end of the day, it was an opportunity, so I was rolling up my sleeves, stepping up ready to swing. I [was] like, ‘I’m going to hit a home run out of this.'”

On coming up with backstories for the group: “I had answered the whys, but the problem is the whys never made it to TV.”

Mustafa Ali is currently scheduled to challenge Gunther for the WWE Intercontinental Title next month at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, May 27.
