Nic Nemeth Wants to Face Hiroshi Tanahashi One Last Time Before He Retires

– Ahead of TNA Bound for Glory, TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth answered a fan question if he has any plans to return to NJPW at some point. Nic Nemeth noted that he’d like to face Hiroshi Tanahashi before he hangs it up.
Nemeth wrote on social media, “Loved my time in NJPW and like many others, would love to get one more match with the living legend @tanahashi1_100 before he retires.”
Nemeth faced Tanahashi in a match for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku 2024 earlier in May. He beat Tanahashi to retain his title at the event. As previously noted, Tanahashi recently announced that he will be retiring from in-ring competition following Wrestle Kingdom at the Tokyo Dome in January 2026.
