Note on Color Change for Hell in a Cell Structure Tonight
– As previously reported, WWE posted a live video of the Hell in a Cell structure being built at the AT&T Center ahead of tonight’s pay-per-view event. The video showed that the Cell is now red in color. The WrestleVotes Twitter account commented on the change, with some information from an alleged WWE source, which you can see below.
The source claimed that Vince McMahon “forgot how old the match was” with 2018 being the 20th anniversary of The Undertaker vs. Mankind match at King of the Ring 1998. As a result, McMahon wanted to change things up, similar to when WrestleMania decided to drop the roman numerals. Additionally, WWE apparently did a visibility test for the cage, and it was OK.
Asked about the Red Cell… source said “honestly, w/ all this 20 yr talk about Taker & Foley, I think Vince forgot how old the match was. So he changed it up. Like when Mania lost its roman numerals. Just something new.” Also, they did test for visibility and it’s OK. #WWEHIAC
