A new backstage update reports that WWE is not pursuing any plans for an on-screen match between Becky Lynch and referee Jessika Carr, despite recent fan speculation. The discussion began after Lynch publicly criticized Carr’s officiating during the match that led to her losing the Women’s Intercontinental Championship to Maxxine Dupri. This led some fans to question whether the company was preparing an angle built around the tension. According to sources familiar with internal creative conversations, there is “nothing resembling that at all” in place regarding a Lynch vs. Carr program.

The Fightful Select report clarifies that Jessika Carr is capable of working in the ring if WWE ever chooses to shift her into a wrestling role. Earlier this year, she quietly competed in two masked matches for EVOLVE, marking her first in-ring matches since 2017. The 34-year-old maintains strong physical conditioning, allowing her to perform if the company requests it. These details confirm that a match is possible on an ability standpoint, but remain unrelated to the current creative direction.

The same report includes a separate opinion from Sean Ross Sapp, who imagines a scenario in which Carr could appear as a masked character called “Kalyx” and face Lynch in a one-off match. This speculation also suggests Becky would likely be willing to elevate Carr in such a situation. However, the commentary is noted as opinion only and not tied to any official WWE planning or internal discussions.
