Saraya Doesn’t Think She Will Be Able to Face Mercedes Mone in AEW

– During a recent interview with The Wrestling Classic, former AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya was asked if she’d be interested in having a match with AEW star and reigning TBS Champion Mercedes Mone in AEW. Below are some highlights (via Fightful):
“I don’t know. I mean, we both wanted to, so we were just waiting for that trigger to be pulled. But I think she has other people that she has to wrestle for right now, so I don’t know when that time would be. Unfortunately, I may not be there to be able to do that with her. It should have happened a while ago, but it is what it is. We wanted it, but it hasn’t been the right time, I guess.”
Saraya (formerly WWE’s Paige) and Mercedes Mone (formerly Sasha Banks) both competed in a match where Saraya suffered a near-career ending injury. It forced her to go on an in-ring hiatus for several years. She later returned to the ring after signing with AEW in 2022.
Saraya last wrestled in an October 2024 edition of Dynamite, losing a Fatal 4-Way No. 1 Contendership bout that also featured Willow Nightingale, Jamie Hayter, and Nyla Rose. Nightingale won the match.
