Stephanie Vaquer has confirmed her ankle injury on social media, and a new report has a minor update on when she will defend her Women’s World Title against Raquel Rodriguez. As noted, Vaquer is reportedly dealing with a legitimate injury that was incorporated into the storyline on WWE Raw. Monday’s show saw Rodriguez attack Vaquer and go after her injured ankle, which was in a walking boot.
Vaquer posted to her Instagram stories on Friday to show off her heavily bruised ankle. You can see a screenshot of the post via Twitter below. Vaquer captioned the pic, “Recovering.”
In addition, the WON reports that Vaquer’s planned title defense against Rodriguez is expected to happen before the Royal Rumble on January 31st. It is not currently clear if it will happen on an episode of Raw or at Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 24th.
Stephanie Vaquer defended the Women’s World Championship against Rodriguez twice in recent weeks. The first ended in DQ after Nikki Bella got involved. Bella was also a competitor in the second match, a Triple Threat bout that saw Vaquer pin Bella.
