Taz has undergone successful shoulder surgery, as announced on this week’s AEW Dynamite. As previously reported, the AEW announcer and ECW legend announced on Twitter on October 8th that he would be undergoing total shoulder replacement surgery and would be “off AEW Dynamite for some time.”
Excalibur revealed on Wednesday night’s show that Taz underwent the surgery and that it was successful. There is no word on how long he may be away from AEW TV. He has yet to comment on his shoulder surgery since his initial announcement last week.
Taz has served as a commentator on AEW Dynamite since the start of June of 2022. Before joining the AEW Dynamite team on a full-time basis, he was a member of the AEW Rampage commentary team starting in August of 2021. He previously underwent total knee replacement surgery back in 2024. His son HOOK is a member of the current AEW roster as well, serving as an active competitor.
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Taz on a quick and full recovery.
