The Opps are still your AEW World Trios Champions, retaining the titles in a match on this week’s AEW Dynamite. Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata defeated The Hurt Syndicate in the opening match on Wednesday’s show with their titles on the line.
Joe finished off the match when he took advantage of a distraction by Ricochet. MVP tried to go for the Playmaker when Ricochet appeared. Joe took advantage of the distraction to apply the Coquina Clutch and make MVP tap out.
The Hurt Syndicate chased The Demand off after the match and Joe cut a promo heeling on the crowd. He said that he attacked Hangman Page after their match at WrestleDream because he was there to show Page that he’s not the best. He vowed to take Page out and mocked Texas’ sports teams before they left.
The Opps’ Trios Title reign stands at 190 days. They defeated the Death Riders to win the titles at AEW Dynamite: Spring Break Thru on April 16th.
