Trinity Fatu on How She Originally Wanted to Emulate Naomi Campbell With Her Gimmick
– During a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, new Impact Wrestling talent Trinity Fatu revealed how after joining WWE, her original idea was to have gimmick be a knockoff of the supermodel Naomi Campbell. However, after trying it out for a few weeks, she decided to move on from the idea. Below are some highlights (via WrestlingInc.com):
Trinity Fatu on her picking her ring name Naomi based off of Naomi Campbell: “That’s where I picked my first wrestling name; that’s where I came up with Naomi because I had this idea. I couldn’t use my real name that was the initial one I wanted to use. But then I was like, maybe I can be this knockoff Naomi Cambell in the ring. I had this whole idea concept but that never worked out, so then I was just stuck with the name Naomi.”
On wanting to emulate Campbell for her original gimmick: “When I originally came in I would be a heel so I had this idea of being this bougie, shady, wannabe supermodel who was just not it, but I did it for like a few weeks but I was like this ain’t it.”Â
