The Undertaker was regarded as one of the backstage leaders in the WWE locker room during his long career, but since his retirement, many have wondered who has filled that void backstage. While speaking with the Club 520 Podcast (h/t WrestlingInc), Undertaker said that Randy Orton is now the “OG” of the WWE locker room. Highlights of his comments are below.
“Randy’s the OG now, man. He’s, like, I remember Randy when he was just a kid. Now he’s the oldtimer around.”
Undertaker noted that he has gotten to see Orton grow from a young man to the leader he is now.
“He’s been around. He started when he was 20-21, I mean, he was young. And, man, he was a handful too, and it’s been fun to, you know, watch his maturity, and now he’s a leader. So it’s crazy.”
Orton used to have a somewhat negative reputation backstage and was known for playing pranks and butting heads with other talent, but Cody Rhodes also said recently that Orton has filled the backstage leadership role left by The Undertaker.
