Kota Ibushi Gives New Update On Recovery From Broken Leg
Kota Ibushi recently gave an update on his recovery from his broken leg, noting that he hopes to be back much sooner than expected. As previously reported, Ibushi suffered a broken femur during a match on AEW Collision against Josh Alexander back in October. At the time, Ibushi noted that doctors told him he wouldn’t be fully recovered for a year and wouldn’t be cleared to compete for two, but that he didn’t believe such and planned to be back sooner.
Ibushi recently spoke with Hype Talk TV and during the conversation, he gave an update on his recovery status. Ibushi noted that the doctor has told him he’s a year out from coming back and that he plans to halve that timeframe.
As you can see below (via Peps Wrestling), Ibushi said that he ants to be back in six months and work “easy matches” in Japan & AEW. He did not that he is not yet able to run.
This is a very different timeframe from what Ibushi said even last month, when he noted on Instagram that “medically, I have one year and nine months left” but to cut nine months off that recovery, which he said would mean he’d be “back in 2026.”
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Ibushi as he continues his road to a full recovery.
