Vinny Pacifico On What To Expect From NJPW Debut, Would Love More Work There
Vinny Pacifico makes his NJPW debut at All Star Junior Festival in Philadelphia this weekend, and he teased what to expect from him in the match. Pacifico will battle Goldy on the August 19th event’s pre-show, and he spoke with Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert & Joel Pearl on In The Weeds ahead of the match. You can see some highlights below:
On what to expect from his NJPW debut: “They can expect a lot of energy, as always, and G Fuel. I’m very grateful for New Japan. This has been in the works for quite a while. I’ve been talking to them for a bit, seeing when it could work out, and now it worked out. Timing is everything, and I’ve never been more ready in my life. Very excited for this. This is something I’ve had on my list for a very long time, New Japan. Thinking back when I started, I was like, ‘New Japan would be amazing,’ but at the time, it didn’t seem very likely. Over the years, you work hard, you make things happen, and I’m so happy and grateful it’s happening.”
On if he hopes the match leads to more work with NJPW: “I would love to work for New Japan. I would love to go to Japan, that’s a big goal of mine and has been a goal of mine, not only to wrestle, but Japan is beautiful. The culture. Wrestling in Japan is very sacred and that’s something I have a deep passion for and I would love the opportunity to go over to Japan. Hopefully I’ll go out there on Saturday, show out and it leads to more. I’m very optimistic and I’m hoping to work for New Japan again in the future.”
