WNBA star Sophie Cunningham says that she was asked by WWE to be part of the company at some point. Cunningham revealed the bit of information on an episode of her Show Me Something podcast with West Wilson. A clip of the episode was posted online by the show.
Sophie Cunningham is a guard for the Indiana Fever. She noted that she grew up as a fan of WWE and that the company asked her to come in. She didn’t specify when this was, or what involvement she would have had, but has previously said that wrestling is “definitely something that would be fun to get into.” You can see highlights below:
On Growing Up a WWE Fan:
“I grew up on that s**t. WWE baby!… Kane, Hulk (Hogan). Oh my God. I used to watch the Hulk all the time, the reality TV show. John Cena was just the absolute best, man.”
On WWE Asking Her To Come In:
“Actually, they asked me to do it… You know, maybe after off-season, maybe us two will be the new WWE duo.”
