WWE doctor Chris Amann’s lawsuit against CM Punk is set to go to court this month unless he can get it delayed. Wrestling Observer Radio reports that the lawsuit is set to begin on May 21st, before his scheduled fight with Mike Jackson at UFC 225 on June 9th.

Amman is suing Punk and Colt Cabana for defamation over comments Punk made on Cabana’s podcast in November of 2014, alleging that he was mistreated for a back injury and concussion by Amann. Dave Meltzer noted in on WOR, “He’s got that [WWE lawsuit], remember he’s going to trial on the 21st. Unless there’s a delay, yeah May 21st. He should not be fighting, should he? He may ask for a delay. In the middle of a lawsuit, three weeks from a fight, and that’s a lawsuit where he’s going to be cross-examined and gonna testify in. No, that’s a bad deal. Yeah, he’s going to have to get that thing delayed past June 9.”

The UFC fight will be Punk’s second after his debut loss to Mickey Gall at UFC 203.
