UPDATE: Spoiler on Plans For New NXT Championship

UPDATE: As noted in the spoilers for tonight’s NXT tapings, William Regal announced that the NXT North American Championship will debut at NXT Takeover: New Orleans. Regal announced a six-person Ladder Match at the event for the new secondary championship, with the competitors announced as Ricochet, Ethan Carter III, The Velveteen Dream, Lars Sullivan, Adam Cole and Killian Dain.

A new secondary singles title is being planned for the WWE NXT brand.
NXT General Manager William Regal announced at tonight’s TV tapings from Full Sail University that the NXT North American Title will be introduced at NXT “Takeover: New Orleans” during WrestleMania 34 Weekend.
No word yet on what kind of match would be held at Takeover or who the participants will be but we will keep you updated.

ORIGINAL: WWE is reportedly planning to add a secondary singles championship for the NXT brand. PWInsider reports that the company is set to add an NXT North American Championship, with tonight’s taping possibly seeing its announcement.
According to the site, one source said that tonight’s taping will see a match announced for NXT Takeover: New Orleans to determine the inaugural champion. This is the second title set to be added to WWE after the Cruiserweight Tag Team Championships that will reportedly be added to 205 Live after WrestleMania.
