Mr. McMahon’s Announcement
 photo Mr_McMahons_Announcement_Cropped_zpsa1u5slek.jpg

Mr. McMahon makes his way down to the ring and is immediately greeted by a thunderous CM Punk chant from the Chicago crowd. Mr. McMahon begins to tell the history of WWE Raw, but the fans cut him off with another CM Punk chant. Mr. McMahon says that the key to Raw’s success has been changing it up from time to time to keep things fresh. It’s time for Raw to have a leader with vision and business acumen, so it’s time to decide if it should be Shane or Stephanie who leads Raw into the future. Mr. McMahon introduces Stephanie, but he hasn’t yet said that she is his choice. Stephanie hugs her father and thanks the fans for their support. The fans boo Stephanie in response, but that’s fan, because she doesn’t really want their support or their sympathy. What Stephanie wants is respect, and she’ll get respect, because the Authority has accomplished so much. They are responsible for the Shield, the Divas Revolution, and the WWE Network. Say what you will about Stephanie and the Authority, but she has always done what’s best for business. She is so much different from Shane, who abandoned the WWE Universe for seven years. Stephanie reminds Vince that Shane lost to the Undertaker at WrestleMania, and the only reason he got his foot back in the door was by blackmailing his own father. Stephanie says that the only choice Vince can make is her… but HERE COMES THE MONEY! The fans chant for Shane, and Shane eats it up. Shane doesn’t normally like to talk about himself, but that’s what he needs to do right now. He asks Stephanie about how many headlines she and Triple H have gotten about doing a good job over the years. Shane then shows several recent headlines focusing on his recent success, which gets a YES! chant from the crowd. Shane says that Stephanie can’t take credit for the 1.8 million subscribers to the WWE Network, because only those 1.8 million subscribers can take credit for that. There was, however, a jump in subscriptions around WrestleMania, and that was due in part to interest in Shane’s match with the Undertaker. There are still things that Stephanie doesn’t know about Shane’s departure from WWE seven years ago, but his departure left a void. Stephanie and her husband filled that void, but all they did was fill WWE with venom. Shane came back to save WWE from Stephanie, so he’s asking Vince to listen to him, and he’s asking Vince to listen to the fans. The crowd goes wild, and Vince says that he’s heard enough of that crap. Vince says that Stephanie makes a lot of good points, and Stephanie admits that Shane does have likability. Vince says Shane shouldn’t be here at all. The only reason Shane is still here after losing to the Undertaker is because Vince gave him a chance. Shane wants Vince to listen to all these people, but Vince doesn’t listen to anyone but himself. Tonight is about what Vince want, and what Vince wants is blood. He wants to see Shane and Stephanie slit each other’s throats and disembowel each other. Maybe they’ll fight, or maybe they’ll cooperate, but either way it will be interesting. Because what Vince wants is for Shane and Stephanie to have and equal role in running Raw. Shane offers to shake Stephanie’s hand, and she begrudgingly accepts. Shane and Stephanie are now both in charge of running Monday Night Raw.
