411’s WWF Raw Is War Report 1.8.01

We start out with a video package on the happenings between the McMahon’s and Austin.

Intro.

Mr. McMahon comes down to the ring. He tells us to respect authority. He then shows clips of Rock giving Rock Bottoms to refs, not respecting authority. Rock will go up against Kane and Rikishi in a handicap match. That not being fair, Stephanie will choose two refs to be Rock’s tag team partners. He then starts on Stone Cold. He says it’s a new year, and he’s a new man, and he will be fair, that is why he officiated the #1 contender match, and gave the win to Stone Cold. He believes in leading by example. Stone Cold then comes down. Austin then asks what type of leadership he’s talking about…and then admits to not believing him one bit. He believes in DTA, and that’s what will stick to. He will beat “Kurt Angle’s Olympic ass” tonight for the title. This sparks Angle’s music. Angle is impressed will all the talking Stone Cold just did. Angle then brings up Austin’s strap matches with Savio Vega back in ’96 when Angle was winning Olympic Gold. Angle calls himself a true Champion, and he will not lie down for anyone, especially Austin. Austin flips him off. Austin asks the crowd if they want to see if they want him to beat his Olympic winning ass. Austin’s music hits, and he calls for some beer. Angle nails him in the back of the head with his title belt.

Recap of what just happened, because we all forgot.

Y2J & The Hardy Boyz (w/ Lita) vs. The Radicalz (w/ Terri)
A brawl starts the match. Wow, I’m wierded out, the set is backwards. Back and forth. Terri up on the apron, Jericho throws her off. Benoit goes for the Crossface, but Jericho reverses it into a backslide!!!! I’ve never seen that work before. Lita slaps Malenko, Malenko, in turn, throws a concession on her.
Winners – Jericho and Hardys

Steph with 5 refs. She wants 2 volunteers to go into the match with The Rock. None of them wanted to do it. Teddy Long and Jack Doane spoke out against the idea, so Stephanie choose them two.

XFL Cheerleaders are at ringside….WOW.

Lita goes into the shower, and Malenko goes in after her.

Kevin Kelly with The Rock. Pat Patterson opens The Rock’s lockerroom, wait a second…. He wishes Stone Cold luck in his match, but then he will have a date with the Rock at WrestleMania. He then rants on Stephanie’s plans for the evening, calls Kelly a hermaphrodite. Blah blah blah.

They show Malenko trying to sneak up on Lita in the shower. Lita is only wearing a thong!! Dean tries to give her a towel, and that covers up her melons…damnit. Hardys come in, beat up Malenko. They trap his leg in the table leg, and then crush it with a steel chair. Refs break it up.

MC has an interview with Chyna. She is recovering, but she’s not near 100%. Billy Gunn has a Lumberjack Match against Val Venis. She hopes Gunn beats him up badly.

Val Venis vs. The One – Lumberjack Match (I thought it was supposed to be a cage match)
Lumberjack action, with Billy Gunn throwing out Val a few times. RTC interferes a lot, and that gives Val the edge. Val with a suplex for 2. Gunn gets the advantage back, goes for a pile driver, but Val wiggles outside, where the APA beats him up and throws him back in for Billy’s Sleeper Slam. All the Lumberjack’s hit the ring, and the faces (Too Lame, K-Kwik, Crash, APA) throw out the heels (RTC, Lo Down, Essa Rios).
Winner – One

The 2 refs are talking, Kane comes by and shoves Teddy Long.

Slam of the Week – Rock going ape shit on everyone last week on Smackdown.

Kane and Rikishi vs. therock.com, Teddy Long, and Jack Doane
This is going to suck. Long will start against Rikishi. Right away, Rikishi gives him the stinkface. Rock comes in, and clears house. Rikishi and Kane double team a bit, but Rock hits a spinebuster on Kishi, goes for the People’s Elbow, but Kane hits a choke slam before Rock can connect. Rock down in the corner, Rikishi goes for the stink face, but Rock gets a low blow in. Kane in, and he goes for a Tombstone, but since Vince won’t let him, Rock falls out of it, and hits a Samoan Drop. Kane goes for a chair, and he shoves the real ref, and the bell is rung. Kane beats up all 3 of the refs, as Rikishi beats down Rock. Taker comes to the ring, and clears house.
Winners via DQ – Rock and the Refs.

Commercials.

Steph complains about Taker ruining the plans. Vince makes a Fatal Four Way for Smackdown between Taker, Rikishi, Rock, and Kane. Winner gets the #30 spot at the Rumble.

Raven ( c) vs. Steve Blackman – Hardcore Title
Normal Hardcore stuff. Hardcore Holly comes down. Raven pins Hardcore for the win, Blackman tries to jump Raven, but Holly beats him up…I’m confused. Raven runs to the back, and there is someone in a car waiting for him.
Winner and Still Champion – Raven

Kia En Tie is in WWF NY, they run there Japanese stuff…and it’s really funny.

Edge and Christian come down the ring. They have a match with the Dudz at the Royal Rumble. They introduce LeVon and Motha Fay, the Dudley parents. Dudz then come out and E&C push the ‘parents’ into them. The Dudz beat up the fake parents…LeVon got a 3D and Motha Fay got the WAZZZZZZZZZZZUP Headbutt, and then they put her through table.

Vince and Steph in the back, Vince asks Steph to get him some coffee…after she leaves, he takes his jacket off.

Highlights of The Rock at the CES Show. He is there the help reveal the new Microsoft X-Box. It doesn’t matter what Bill Gates thinks.

Steph comes back into the lockerroom. Trish is in there as well. Steph puts her in the match with Albert up against Test. Steph…”Anyway Trish, I hear you used to 2 on 1.”

They show clips of people saying who they thought would win the World Title match.

Vince goes out looking for Trish…didn’t find her.

Test vs. Albert and Trish
Test is clearing house. He pulls Trish in the ring, goes for the Meltdown, but Trish wiggles out of it, but Test boots Albert. Regal comes down to the ring, and distracts Test, Albert then hits the Albert Bomb for the pinfall. Albert, Trish, and Regal leave together.
Winners – Albert and Trish

Steph is pissed, and is convinced that Vince sent Regal down to the ring.

Then a video package on Kurt Angle.

Stone Cold walks…Angle walks…

Kurt Angle ( c) vs. stonecold.com – World Title
Austin hits the ring with head full of steam, and he beats down Angle. Angle counts a suplex, but Austin strikes back with a Lou Thiez Press. Austin with a gut wrench suplex for 2. Floatover suplex for 2. Angle counters another suplex, and hits a side Russian leg sweep. Angle hits a cross body for 2. They travel to the outside, where Regal comes out again, only to get his ass whipped by Austin. Angle gets back body dropped over the retaining wall. Back in the ring, Austin goes for a pin, and gets 2, two times. Austin then pummels him, for a 2 count. Austin goes to the 2nd rope, jumps towards Angle, but Angle with the counter, hits a belly to belly suplex. Both back up, Austin goes for a Stunner, but Angle hits another belly to belly suplex. Angle then hits a series of side suplexes. Then a series of belly to back suplexes for 2. Angle then with a series of gut wrench suplexes. Austin starts to fight back. Angle down in the corner, and Austin is stomping a mudhole in him, and walking it dry. Austin with a spinebuster, followed by a elbow from the 2nd rope. Austin goes for the Stunner…blocked. Angle goes for the Olympic Slam…blocked. Austin goes for the Stunner again….blocked again. Austin finally hits the Stunner in a great series of moves. Earl (or is it Dave) Hebner is pulled out by…HHH!!!!!! HHH knocks out Hebner. Austin throws out Angle, and calls out HHH. HHH and Austin brawl in the ring, and they fall to the outside. HHH nails Austin with a lead pipe, 3 times..Austin is busted open laid out on the announce table with HHH standing over him.
