Vince & Stephanie McMahon to Be Deposed in WWE Concussion Lawsuit

– Vince and Stephanie McMahon will be deposed in the concussion lawsuit against WWE. PWInsider reports that the judge in the case ruled that Vince and Stephanie will be deposed, as will Triple H, Dr. Chris Amann and CTE expert Chris Nowinski.
The lawsuit was brought against the company by WWE alumni Vito Lo Grasso and Evan Singleton. The lawsuit alleges that WWE failed to protect their performers in regard to their health around concussions, CTE and other head-trauma related injuries. WWE had tried to avoid having Triple H being deposed, saying he wasn’t in the scope of the lawsuit because the plaintiffs hadn’t given any legitimate reason for the deposition. Judge Bryant disagreed, ruling:
“WWE made Levesque available previously to testify before Congress on issues related to the safety of its wrestlers. Although the Court rejected Plaintiff’s fraudulent misrepresentation claims on the basis of that testimony, WWE has not demonstrated that Levesque is not an appropriate deponent on the issues of whether WWE had a duty, and whether that duty was breached, to disclose knowledge of long term health risks caused by repeated head trauma. The parties are ordered to work cooperatively to schedule a deposition based on the witness’ availability, which may be conducted up to fourteen days after the current discovery deadline.”
Vince McMahon will be deposed tomorrow, while nd Triple H will be deposed on May 31st.
