WWE News: Linda McMahon Listed as Major Trump Donor, Emma Returns at House Show
– The Washington Post reports that Linda McMahon donated $6 million to a SuperPAC for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in recent months. The site reports that Linda contributed the amount to Rebuilding America Now in August and September, making for about a third of the PAC’s total money raised.
The McMahons have long been supporters and friends of Trump; previous reports noted that Linda and Vince donated $5 million between 2007 and 2009 to the Trump Foundation and Trump of course has had a long-term association with WWE between hosting WrestleManias and appearing at one. Linda’s most recent donation came on September 22nd for $1 million.
The site adds that Linda previously criticized Trump for his comments on women back in March after Trump insulted Ted Cruz’ wife, saying, “He’s not helping, certainly, to put women in the best light. Maybe he regrets them, maybe he doesn’t. I realize he punches hard when he punches back, but that’s just over the top.” However, last month she told the AP that she is a strong Trump backer as he’d emerged as “a vessel that has housed this anger and this dissatisfaction” that exists throughout the country. Once you’re his friend, he is loyal to the end. He’s an incredibly loyal, loyal friend.”
– WZ reports that Emma returned to the ring at last night’s WWE house show in Phoenix, teaming with Nikki Bella and Naomi to win a six-person tag match with Alexa Bliss, Carmella and Natalya. You can see video and pics below:
