Nick Khan Says WWE Will Open Up More Sections of Ford Field for Summerslam As Ticket Sales Surge
As reported earlier, WWE held its Q1 earnings call today and Nick Khan noted that WWE ticket sales have skyrocketed, to the point where WWE is opening up more sections of Ford Field for Summerslam after reportedly selling over 32,000 tickets already. “More tickets were sold at on sale for this upcoming SummerSlam than any other domestic WWE show in our company’s history, outside of WrestleMania,” Khan said. “In the coming weeks, we expect to be opening up new sections of Ford Field, so we can keep up with the demand.”
As noted earlier, WWE has seen a 41% jump in live event revenue, going from $23 million to $32.6 million in Q1, and a jump in average attendance from 5,700+ to 7,800+.
