Sol Ruca Comments on Her In-Ring Status, Says She’s Not Yet Cleared To Return

As previously reported, WWE NXT Superstar Sol Ruca suffered an injury when competing with Zaria for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss on Friday Night SmackDown. As a result, she was unable to defend her NXT Women’s North American Title at last weekend’s NXT Halloween Havoc, with Zaria taking her place. Sol Ruca commented on her in-ring status in a new Instagram Story earlier today.
The Instagram story features a clip from Sol Ruca’s match at NXT Deadline 2024, where she competed in the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge against Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, Zaria, and Wren Sinclair. Ruca wrote in the caption, “I may not be cleared just yet, but I’m doing everything in my power to be at NXT Deadline.”
As noted, although Sol Ruca was not stripped of her title, and Zaria was allowed to defend it on her tag team partner’s behalf, Zaria still lost the match to Blake Monroe at Halloween Havoc.
As a result of Zaria’s defeat, Blake Monroe became the new NXT Women’s North American Champion, and she didn’t even have to defeat the reigning champion to do it.
That said, it has not yet been confirmed if Sol Ruca is legitimately injured, or if her injury and appearance on crutches is all part of an elaborate storyline by WWE.
During a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Brayn Alvarez cast some doubt and speculation regarding the potential legitimacy of Ruca’s apparent injury. It remains to be seen if that is the case.
