Backstage Update on WWE’s Plans for Blake Monroe

As previously reported, despite some discussions of Blake Monroe moving up to the main roster, the NXT Superstar is not expected to be called up “imminently,” and the potential call-up was only an idea that was “discussed.” BodySlam+ now has a new update on the former WWE NXT North American Women’s Champion.
According to BodySlam’s update, Monroe isn’t expected to get called up to the main roster as of now, so it looks like she’ll be staying in NXT for the time being.
Additionally, following the unplanned title change with Thea Hail last month, WWE reportedly has new plans in place for Monroe as the company builds up to NXT Stand & Deliver 2026 in April. As noted, Monroe lost her North American Championship to Hail in an unscripted finish after Monroe botched a nearfall spot.
During this week’s NXT New Year’s Evil, Monroe was slated for a title rematch against Hail. However, the match never took place after Blake Monroe attacked Hail before the match and “injured” the champion. As a result, Ava banned Monroe from the building.
Thea Hail later defended the title in an open challenge, which was answered by Izzi Dame, who won the match and the title.
