Then. Now. Forever. Together!
We see the exterior of the O2 Arena and some fans outside. Then we see a video package narrated by Wade Barrett for the King & Queen of the Ring Tournaments.
Jimmy & Jey Uso are WALKING! IYO SKY is WALKING! Brie Bella & Paige are WALKING! The Street Profits are WALKING! 13,041 fans are in the O2 tonight. Michael Cole & Corey Graves are our hosts.
Oba Femi’s music hits! The fans bark and chant Oba’s name as he enters the arena & struts down to the ring. Oba says the fans are wonderful. He would love for the fans to chant his name all night, which is his new phrase to get the chants started again. He settles the crowd down and says he’s been backed by destiny. Destiny led him to WWE, led him to slay the Beast and has brought him this far in this tournament. Destiny is still on his side, so this weekend he’ll become the new King of the Ring. When he becomes King he’s faced with another dilemma. He will face a champion, and he has two choices. Will he go after the WWE or the World Championship? The fans support the second option.
Before Oba can go further, Jey Uso’s music hits and he walks down through the crowd. Time to yeet! I think he’s trying to conserve his energy somewhat, which would be wise. London wants to run it back, Oba objects and Jey still does it. Jey says he’s him and in your city. Jey’s used to being counted out. They counted him out when he won the Royal Rumble, when he won the World Championship, when he shakes arenas, and they think he can’t win King of the Ring and can’t beat Oba Femi. He’ll silence the haters and shock the world on Saturday. He’s going to wear that crown for the King he is and will take it to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. Jey issues the warning shot. Oba assumes that Jey will shoot for real at Night of Champions, and he advises that Jey better not miss. He’ll destroy Jey either way, and Jey isn’t the family member he’s worried about. Jey can take his stupid bullets and give them to his ruler.
Cole & Graves show us Jacob Fatu demolishing Eric Andre last week as an example of the power of the Bloodline.
Adam Pearce’s phone call is interrupted by LA Knight, who thinks the Bloodline has compromising photos of him. Jimmy Uso walks up and asks what LA’s problem is. He tried to help him, but LA hit him with a chair. They yell at each other, LA tells Pearce to shut up, which leads to him booking LA against Jimmy tonight. LA didn’t listen, but he says he’ll take on Jimmy tonight anyway, YEAH.
JACKIE REDMOND is with Lyra Valkyria & Bayley. Lyra says they’ve had no luck all year, it was all supposed to happen tonight. Bayley says they’ve been the best tag team in this division for a long time. Lyra got the match for them, and tonight’s the night.
Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Paige & Brie Bella (c) vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria: Graves points out Lyra’s nervousness and Cole says that they don’t have a winning record together. Could be a bad sign if they lose, methinks. Lyra attacks Paige right away with a dropkick. Bayley tags in and gets a cradle, Paige smacks her down, takes her into her corner and tags Brie. Brie hits a codebreaker, then she & Paige hit a double bulldog for two. Paige with knees to Lyra, Brie with Yes kicks to Bayley. Bayley neckbreaks Brie on the middle rope, then hits the Bayley to Belly. Paige pulls Brie out of the ring, Lyra clotheslines her. Bayley rolls Brie in for the two count and we go to commercial.
Bayley tries to roll Brie up, Brie inadvertently sends her into Paige. Brie hits a dropkick off the turnbuckle, Lyra & Paige tag in. German suplexes to Lyra & Bayley. Fisherman’s suplexes to both. Lyra avoids the Paige Turner and hits the Nightwing for two. Brie rolls Bayley onto the apron and to the floor, then knees her down. Lyra dropkicks Brie through the ropes. Paige & Lyra exchange near-falls. Lyra hits a fisherman’s buster, and rolls through for another one, but Paige switches the momentum and hits the Rampaige for three!
Winners: Paige & Brie Bella (4:58 shown via pinfall)
Brie & Paige celebrate up the rampway while Bayley & Lyra remain in the ring to vent frustrations. Bayley says they’ll get another chance and hugs Lyra. Lyra throws Bayley hard into the ropes, snapping Bayley’s neck! Lyra mounts Bayley and punches away! Lyra throws Bayley neck-first into the ropes again and continues attacking until the referee and officials pull her off. Lyra hits the Nightwing on Bayley! Lyra backs up the ramp while Bayley is left lying in the ring.
We see a replay of Lyra losing, then snapping on Bayley. Jackie asks the departing Lyra what happened, and Lyra just stares at her with a crazed look on her face before leaving.
Chad Gable makes his way to the ring with his new “Gable” rock theme. He’s also doing the American Males clap here & there. Well, he is a male from America. Gable feels the energy. He’s here for something close to his heart. He’s had a hell of a month that started when he lost his mask. He also lost his reputation, self-respect, dignity, and some friends over the years. He’s going to invite a few people out here right now for an apology. He asks Otis to grab Maxxine Dupri & Akira Tozawa because he has a few things to say to them.
Alpha Academy make their way to the ring. They don’t look especially happy. Chad thanks them for coming out. The potential was obvious in Maxxine, she wanted to be the best she could be and she did. She did something that even Chad couldn’t do: win a singles championship. The way he treated her was pathetic and embarrassing, and that’s on him. Tozawa has the heart of a giant and is the epitome of fighting spirit, and Chad tried to hold him down and hold him back. Otis is by far the most loyal friend any human being could have. He would have done anything for Chad, they’ve been friends for twenty years & Chad misses him. They trained for the Olympics together, he held Chad’s girls in his arms the day after they were born and he threw it all away because he wanted to be a singles champion. The three of them don’t owe him a thing, but he owes them something, and he tells them that he’s sorry.
Chad sticks his hand out, Otis contemplates it and once he goes for it, Maxxine stands in the way! Maxxine used to believe everything that Chad said, but she sees now that everything is a lie. Otis & Tozawa have the biggest hearts and want to give him a second chance, but she doesn’t. She talks about how she had to keep him from beating Tozawa & Otis, and he left them high & dry to chase his own dreams. The apology is for his ego. When she achieved his dream, she realized that they didn’t need him then and they don’t need him now. They’ll leave him the same way he left them: alone. Tozawa leaves with Maxxine, Otis takes some time to look back at Chad before following them out.
Dragon Lee walks up to Rey Mysterio. Rey tells Dragon to teach Ethan some respect for lucha libre. Penta says that tonight is Dragon’s night, and he needs to show cero miedo. Dragon walks towards the ring, his match is next!
Dragon Lee vs. “All Ego” Ethan Page: Rana by Dragon and a dropkick send Page outside, Dragon then dives onto him on the outside. He hits an axehandle off the barricade and rolls Ethan in the ring. Page avoids a top rope move, hits a clothesline and stomps on Lee. Page bounces Lee’s head off his shoe. Lee with a kick to the wrist. Page down in the corner, Lee with a basement kick. Dropkick in the corner by Dragon gets two. Page is placed up top and kicked, he turns Dragon’s mask around so he can kick him out of the ring. We go to commercial!
Strikes are exchanged as we return. German suplex by Lee, some kicks, tornado DDT by Lee gets two. Lee runs into a big boot from Page for two. Kick by Lee on the apron, he climbs the turnbuckle but Page punches him and follows him up. Page is put in the Tree of Woe, Lee hits the double stomp for two. Lee runs into a forearm from Page, Page tries to lift him on the apron, Lee knocks him off, then ranas him into the announce desk. Lee hits the Homicide dive onto Page! Lee rolls Page into the ring, removes the elbow pad and hits a running elbow for two. Ethan headbutts Dragon low when Dragon sets him up for the Styles Clash, then hits the Egoplex for three!
Winner: Ethan Page (6:57 shown via pinfall)
WWE Unreal Season 3 will premiere on Tuesday, July 21st. Cole & Graves send us to a video package covering the Vision’s issue with the Street Profits.
Jackie is backstage with Austin Theory, Logan Paul & Bron Breakker. Theory says that everyone is after the Vision. Seth Rollins will be handled in a steel cage on Saturday. The Street Profits don’t know sacrifice. Logan says he wants to take his brace off and beat them up with it. He’s healed faster than any human being in history. He would put all of his money on the Vision. Bron says he’ll rip Seth’s head off.
IYO SKY is WALKING! We’ll hear from her next.
Sol Ruca is a thrill seeker in and out of the ring. She loves pushing herself past her comfort zone, failing, getting back up and making a fool of herself. The feeling when she gets back up and proves people wrong is what drives her. She is unapologetically herself, and she is Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
We see some boxers & MMA fighters at ringside.
Jackie is in the ring to introduce IYO SKY! Jackie congratulates her and asks IYO how excited for the match she is. IYO is extremely grateful to have gotten here, and can’t wait to face Liv Morgan for the crown. Last week she beat Raquel, and this week she’ll beat Liv to become the queen.
Liv Morgan makes her entrance. She thinks IYO has forgotten who she’s dealing with. Liv claims to be the greatest Women’s Champion of all time. Liv is so much better than IYO & so much more talented, the only thing missing is her crown. She’ll make history at Night of the Champions, then she’ll embarrass IYO’s best friend Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam. IYO asks if the crown will fit on Liv’s big head. IYO yells at Liv in Japanese, then Liv smacks her. IYO springs off the ropes with a missile dropkick and does her crazy pose as Liv ends up on the floor.
Jey asks Jimmy if he needs help tonight. Jimmy says he has LA Knight handled, and Jey needs to focus on Oba Femi. Jacob Fatu appears and lets them know he doesn’t answer to them. Jacob sent the message to Solo on SmackDown, and now they wait. If Solo crosses the line, he won’t like what he finds.
Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh ask Danhausen where their money is. He spent it on his experiment. They threaten to steal his experiment, and Danhausen curses JD. JD electrocutes himself grabbing the experiment, and Danhausen disappears.
LA Knight vs. Jimmy Uso: Jimmy shoves LA and Charles Robinson rings the bell right away. Punches and chops are exchanged. Jimmy tosses LA outside, then dives into a punch from LA. Jimmy & LA exchange shots around ringside. LA’s head bounces off the steps. Jimmy says he’s the only one on LA’s team, but that doesn’t stop LA from bouncing his head off the announce table. Back in the ring, LA hits a neckbreaker for two. Boot by Jimmy, he hits the Whisper in the Wind for two. LA gets backdropped onto the apron then kicked to the floor. LA rams Jimmy into the apron. Jimmy reverses a whip and sends LA into the barricade. We go to commercial!
