Latest On When CM Punk Will Make WWE TV Return

A new report has an update on when CM Punk is expected to make his return to WWE television. It was reported last week that the former World Heavyweight Champion was pushing “very hard” to make his return on the July 6 episode of WWE Raw, which takes place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that the expectation within WWE is that Punk will in fact be returning on Monday’s show.

The report additionally cites a source at Allstate Arena, who said that they have not yet been informed of any potential change regading Punk’s promotional status. He is currently being advertised for the show and though talent are often advertised even for dark matches or segments, Punk’s TV return appears to be set for the show.

It has been reported that Punk is expected to be part of the Smackdown brand, and Punk himself joked during commentary for CFFC 156 on Friday that he may not be available on Friday nights going forward.

CM Punk last appeared on WWE TV during the Raw after WrestleMania, where he had a segment with Cody Rhodes and teased the notion of going after Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship when he returned. Punk has been expected to make his return to TV in the build to SummerSlam. WWE has yet to confirm Punk’s return to TV.
