Warner Bros. and DC Studios dropped the latest trailer for Supergirl, the next big-screen installment of the DC Universe from James Gunn. The new trailer showcases more of the backstory of Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, who goes on a mission targeting some interstellar pirates who have mortally wounded her dog, Krytpo.

The trailer showcases Supergirl going on a mission to save Krypto after her precious friend is poisoned by a dart from the interstellar pirate Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts), Supergirl teams up with a young girl named Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), who wants revenge against Krem for murdering her parents, as the pirates hold the only antidote to save Krypto before the toxin kills him in three days.

Also, the trailer features a lot more footage of Jason Momoa as the alien bounty hunter, Lobo, using his signature chain and teaming up with Supergirl in battle, plus lots of trademark one-liners. There’s also a brief cameo by David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, who sends a message to his cousin, expressing concern about her continuing to travel off-world.

The upcoming feature is directed by Craig Gillespie from a script by Ana Nogueira. It also stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz as Kara’s father, Zor-El, and Emily Beecham. It’s produced by DC Studios heads Peter Safran and James Gunn.

Joining Gillespie behind the camera are director of photography Rob Hardy, production designer Neil Lamont, editor Tatiana S. Riegel, costume designer Anna B. Sheppard, Visual Effects Supervisor Geoffrey Baumann, and composer Ramin Djawadi.

DC’s Supergirl hits theaters and IMAX across North America on June 26, 2026. It will be released internationally starting June 24, 2026, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
