CM Punk knows that his final days are coming eventually, but he doesn’t know who he would want to have as a last opponent. Punk is in the midst of a high point in his career since having returned to WWE including a current reign as World Heavyweight Champion.

But at 47, Punk knows that the end of his career is coming up at some point. With John Cena retiring next month at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Punk was asked on Mostly Sports who he would pick as his last opponent. Punk noted that he can’t answer the question and explained why. You can see highlights below:

On Who He Would Want His Last Opponent To Be:

“That one’s so hard to answer. That’s like a huge ‘I don’t know.’ Because everything is constantly changing, and this is also fleeting. That’s why I say, I’m in the present right now. I’m just trying to enjoy every single day. I go out there and perform, whether it’s just on the microphone or in the ring, like it’s my last time. Just because I don’t know. You never know what’s gonna happen.”

On His Own Retirement Coming At Some Point:

“That also, I think, lends credence to why the Cena thing is so special. Because he just mapped it out and said, ‘This is it. Come hang out, see me for the last time, and I’m done.’ I’ve often said that me and him are on the same path. I just don’t have an expiration date on it. But I do know that, like the road is a lot shorter ahead of me than it is behind me. So we’re gonna see what happens. But as far as like who I wrestle for the last time, man, I really have no idea.”
