News on Conor McGregor’s Recent Roman Reigns Comments

Conor McGregor didn’t mince words when asked about the recent UFC event at the White House on June 14th. No, his comments weren’t of the directly political variety, but were perceived by some as anti-WWE. In comments since deleted on X, he referred to Roman Reigns, who was in attendance, as “Who?” Then he added, ”The platforming of our athletes within the business was not capitalised on enough in my opinion. I don’t know who the [f***] these guys are that have never fought MMA yet were visibly all over the show.”

According to Fightful Select, McGregor definitely knows who Reigns is. Reigns had previously insulted McGregor’s size the last time the MMA fighter insulted WWE. The word backstage is that McGregor was simply promoting corporate synergy in his own way, by calling attention to both TKO companies.

McGregor is one of the most recognizable MMA fighters in the world, and also one of the most controversial, having been found civilly liable for rape. He has since claimed to have found religion anew. For WWE, who brought back Brock Lesnar despite his being named in the Janel Grant lawsuit, that wouldn’t necessarily preclude a collaboration.

McGregor, however, has never expressed any interest in crossing over.
