The Block B finals…

Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Desperado: Suzuki-gun explodes. Desperado grabs a chair and waits on Kanemaru, who is joined by Taichi. Kanemaru takes a few drinks from his bottle of whiskey; TAKA is out in Desperado’s corner now. Liger is out on commentary, looking like he has not time for these Suzuki-gun fucks. It was clean early, but then Kanemaru hit a cheap shot, leading to a fast paced back and forth. Taichi then got involved, so TAKA got involved to even the playing field. They all argued on the floor, Desperado raked the eyes and looked to use the chair, but the ref took it from him, allowing Kanemaru to attack and toss him into the chairs. Kanemaru then posted him, taking control and then laying the boots to him. Back in the ring, Kanemaru continues to lay the boots to him and rake at the eyes. He then chokes him out, and works a camel clutch. Desperado escapes, starts to fight back and hits a knee strike and running basement dropkick. Desperado then hits a DVD, but Kanemaru grabs the ref’s hand to stop the three count. Taichi gets involved, but accidentally mists Kanemaru with the whiskey, allowing Desperado to hit a spear for 2. He then tosses Kanemaru to the floor and hits a suicide dive. Desperado then hits everyone with chairs, even TAKA, but Kanemaru is able to fight back and hit a reverse DDT on the floor. Taichi then rolls Kanemaru back in to beat the count, so Desperado wins via countout. Yoshinobu Kanemaru defeated Desperado @ 10:13 via countout [***] This was a good and fun match, as they tried to out-heel each other and they all knew (Taichi & TAKA included) that no one was to be trusted, I felt that they played the dynamic well and the finish was not only fitting, but saved for the right match.

Ryusuke Taguchi vs. ACH: They joke around a bit to begin, but then get to action with a lock up and grappling exchange, leading to a stand off. They pick up the pace, with ACH hitting atomic drops to counter Taguchi’s ass attacks. He then bag tagged him and hit a series of suicide dives. ACH is fired up and the crowd loves it. Taguchi made it back into the ring, ACH then mocked him and tried for the bum-a-ye. Taguchi avoided that, and got pissed and started to work over ACH, working a more serious tone and attacking the legs. Taguchi is even slapping him around a bit, he did not appreciate ACH trying to steal his shit. ACH then started to fire back, taking Taguchi down and hitting a standing double stomp. Taguchi cuts off the suicide dive, but runs into a DVD for 2. ACH tried to bag tag Taguchi again, but he blocked it and then fired up with ass attacks, covering for 2. He locks in the ankle lock, but ACH makes the ropes. ACH is slowed by the ankle, they trade strikes but Taguchi takes him down with a jumping ass attack. They again trade strikes center ring, ACH counters an ass attack, but Taguchi takes him down and heads up top; ACH jumps up and hits a superplex for a good near fall. ACH looks for the lariat, but the ass attack tops that. ACH counters the dodon into a cradle, but Taguchi counters that and picks up the pin. Ryusuke Taguchi defeated ACH @ 14:25 via pin [***¼] This was another good match, but maybe a bit too long as I felt they lost steam down the stretch. Taguchi was in his more serious mode, while ACH was more into joking around and playing to the crowd, which he did very well. He’s had a strong tournament run, and I hope it’s earned him some future bookings.

Tiger Mask vs. BUSHI: Tiger Mask attacks, hitting the tombstone early but BUSHI kicked out. Tiger Mask then works the chicken wing, taking BUSHI to the mat. BUSHI makes the ropes, and then takes a powder to the floor. BUSHI then trips up Tiger Mask, attacking the knee and then choking him out with his shirt. Back in the ring, BUSHI keeps control and stomps away at Tiger Mask, grounding him and going back after the leg. BUSHI even goes young lion, working a single leg crab. Tiger mask makes the ropes, but BUSHI takes him down with a missile dropkick, and then goes back after the leg, working over Tiger Mask in the ropes. BUSHI up top, Tiger mask tries to cur him off but BUSHI tries to attack the mask, Tiger Mask then hit the arm drag off the top for the double down. BUSHI fights off the tiger bomb once, but Tiger Mask hits it on the second try. Tiger Mask fires up with kicks, but BUSHI hits the code breaker for 2. BUSHI then hits a neck breaker, covering for 2. Tiger Mask locks in a desperation guillotine, BUSHI fights and makes the ropes after a great fight spot. They work up top, Tiger mask hits the butterfly suplex and then looks for a tiger suplex, but BUSHI kicks him in the knee and then we get a ref bump. BUSHI then hits a chair assisted code breaker, but Tiger Mask kicks out at 2. BUSHI hits MX to finish it. BUSHI defeated Tiger Mask @ 12:10 via pin [**¾] Pretty good outing overall, but I felt they didn’t need the bullshit at the end, it added nothing. Also, they established the knee work, Tiger Mask slowly started to forget to sell it, BUSHI never stayed dedicated to it and then he hits the knee late and then Tiger Mask sells it like he’s been shot. It could have been better, but was pretty good.

KUSHIDA vs. Volador Jr: They worked a nice, fast paced back and forth on the mat to begin. Great start here as they work into another series of passes and counters, leading to a stand off. KUSHIDA finally hits a head scissors, but Volador cuts off the suicide dive. Volador then hits a RANA, sending KUSHIDA to the floor and following with a tope. They tease the double countout, but back in the ring KUSHIDA attacks the arm, hits a springboard dropkick, and then a tope as Volador had bailed to the floor. Back in and KUSHIDA hits a moonsault, covering for 2. Volador fights back, hitting a superkick and backstabber, which got 2. They trade kicks, Volador looks to springboard in but KUSHIDA snatches him out of the air and locks in the arm bar. He escapes, they work to the apron and Volador sends KUSHIDA to the floor and hits an asai moonsault to the floor. Back in and they work up top, SUPER RANA by KUSHIDA, but that only gets 2 as Volador survives. They work up top once again, SUPER RANA by Volador now, and this time KUSHIDA survives. They trade strikes from their knees, and then work to their feet. KUSHIDA then lays in kicks, but Volador cuts him off with a reverse RANA, covering for 2.Volador looks for the back handspring, but KUSHIDA catches him in an arm bar. They then trade several near falls, KUSHIDA it’s a head scissors, and then locks in the hover board lock. Volador tries to escape, but KUSHIDA rolls into God’s last gift and picks up the win. KUSHIDA defeated Volador Jr @ 16:01 via pin [****] This was a great match, they not only had the advantage of being the main event in a match that would decide the block, but it was that circumstance that allowed them to work a balls to the wall, throw everything they had at the wall style main event. It not only worked from an entertainment standpoint, but also made sense because it made it feel as if these two were doing everything in their power to win.

– Block A winner Will Ospreay arrives, clap for KUSHIDA and we get our stand off. Ospreay promises to not be an asshole and attack KUSHIDA. He is happy that KUSHIDA made the finals, because he lost to KUSHIDA twice, KUSHIDA then lost the title and lost in under five minutes; they both have a lot to prove, but while Ospreay respects KUSHIDA, he needs to beat him. “Bring your best, I will become back to back best of the Super Junior.” KUSHIDA said, “Ok, lets go crazy.”
