Genichiro Tenryu Released From Hospital After Nearly a Year

– Atletifo. reports that Japanese wrestling legend Genichiro Tenryu was released from the hospital this week, nearly 10 months after he was first admitted due to a cervical spinal injury last year. Tenryu, age 73, was diagnosed with “myelopathy and spinal canal stenosis associated with atlantoaxial subluxation,” and he was reportedly near death when he was admitted.

In February, he also had to undergo an emergency procedure to address septic shock from his kidneys. Tenryu last competed in the ring in 2015, losing to Kazuchika Okada at the Tenryu Project: Genichiro Tenryu Retirement ~ Revolution FINAL.
