John Cena has officially completed the WWE Grand Slam, capturing the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career during this week’s Monday Night RAW in Boston. The victory marked a career milestone for the veteran, who defeated Dominik Mysterio in a sudden match.

Throughout the match, Mysterio repeatedly attempted to cheat, including removing a turnbuckle pad and faking a chair shot. Despite these antics, Cena secured the win to the loud approval of his hometown crowd. The audience at TD Garden gave Cena one of the loudest ovations of his farewell tour, celebrating his first and only Intercontinental Title win.

Following the match, John Cena took to Twitter/X to share a personal message with fans, thanking Boston for its long-standing support.

“Thank you Boston. It meant so much to be able, for one last time, to be allowed an opportunity to do what I love, in a place I love, surrounded by those I love. Our performances are only meaningful if YOU the audience invest in us and decide they are. The smile on my face and awe in my eyes in this small clip is an honest show of grateful disbelief & appreciation for all you’ve ever invested in me. Last night meant more than I can ever express. Thank you Boston.”

Cena’s victory now sets up the final stretch of his farewell tour, which includes appearances at RAW in Madison Square Garden, Survivor Series: WarGames, and his last match at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C. His final opponent will be selected through the ongoing Last Time Is Now Tournament, which will feature stars from RAW, SmackDown, and NXT.
