– During a recent interview with The Ariel Helwani Show, Matt and Jeff Hardy, The Hardys, discussed their careers and TNA Wrestling’s ongoing partnership with WWE, which has seen crossovers with TNA and the NXT brand. It’s even seen The Hardys make their returns to WWE by way of NXT, successfully defending the TNA Tag Team Titles in the promotion. When speaking about the cross-promotional relationship, Matt Hardy credited AEW’s existence as the reason it’s happening.

Matt Hardy said on the WWE and TNA partnership (via Fightful), “I would guess part of it is AEW and its existence.” When Helwani theorized that WWE was looking to prop up TNA as a way to potentially block AEW, Matt responded, “I think that’s obviously a feasible option.”

When asked if he thinks that idea is working, Matt noted his opinion that the crossover promotion is ultimately helping TNA. He stated, “It’s helping us. No doubt. TNA is a company that has been around for over two decades and I think it’s an important staple in pro wrestling.” He continued, “They do a style that is more similar to the WWE style. It’s a good call and a win-win for everybody.”

The Hardys will be competing for the TNA World Tag Team Titles once again at Slammiversary 2025 on Sunday, June 20. They face reigning champs The Nemeths, The Rascalz, and Fir$t Cla$$ in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder match for the belts. It will air live on pay-per-view.
