More Various News: Final OVW/WWE Show, Another Three Hour RAW, Heat On McMahon, Ratings, More
– The TNA Impact replay over the weekend did a 0.4 rating.
– The UWF shows on ESPN classic from 2/18 to 2/22 did ratings ranging from .02 to .13.
– The final episode of OVW TV associated with WWE will be taped tonight. CM Punk is scheduled to work the show and it is expected that they will have some surprises in hopes of closing out the WWE/OVW era on a positive note.
– The April 7th edition of RAW will be a three hour & five minute broadcast. The March 10th edition of RAW will also be three hours & five minutes.
– At today’s Subcommittee on commerce, trade, and consumer protection hearing on Performance Enhancing Drugs in professional sports, the heads of all the major leagues were told to adopt a uniform testing policy that complies with the US Anti-Doping Agency. It was also stated that pro-wrestling should also be part of this, and that if they don’t, congress will get further involved to set the standard. Rep. Bobby Rush also pointed out that he was disappointed that Vince McMahon was the only invited person to not attend the hearing. He then said that the Subcommittee will continue to investigate pro-wrestling following the Chris Benoit tragedy. Rush then added that McMahon make himself available in the future.
